Some information about left-leaning trends in mainstream
Christianity.
In particular, I've heard many Methodists and Seventh-day
Adventists to this day are vegetarian/vegan.

Other early Christian historical documents observe that many
influential Christians during the formative centuries of
Christianity were vegetarian, though certainly not all. The
Clementine homilies, a second-century work purportedly based on
the teachings of the Apostle Peter, states, "The unnatural
eating of flesh meats is as polluting as the heathen worship of
devils, with its sacrifices and its impure feasts, through
participation in it a man becomes a fellow eater with
devils."[54][citation needed] While the Didascalia does not
itself endorse vegetarianism, it records a group of individuals
who believe they "should not eat flesh, and said that a man must
not eat anything that has a soul in it."[55]
Although early Christian vegetarianism appears to have been
downplayed in favor of more "modern" Christian culture, the
practice of vegetarianism appears to have been very widespread
in early Christianity, both in the leadership and among the
laity.[3] Origen's work Contra Celsum quotes Celsus commenting
vegetarian practices among Christians he had contact with.[56]

made a camp-fire in a snowstorm at the end of a hollow log in
which he intended to pass the night but found it occupied by a
bear and cubs, so he removed his fire to the other end and slept
on the snow in the open air, rather than disturb the

Johnny Appleseed was a Swedenborgian, and so was socialist Helen
Keller. Religion was an important part of her writing. This is
notable since she was most politically active during the first
decades of the 1900s, therefore opposing the False Left
socialists who supported the anti-religious policies of the
Bolsheviks.

boats in distress at sea.”
They claimed that “This would require those who see asylum
seekers at risk to choose between ignoring a moral imperative
(also established in maritime law) to assist them, or to risk
prosecution and imprisonment,” arguing that this was the
equivalent to “criminalisation of the Good Samaritan who did not
pass by on the other side, and an affront to justice to put the
saving of lives under any sort of legal penalty.”[/quote]
In short, rightists want to preserve Western civilization by
killing Christianity. This reveals the fundamental
incompatibility of the two. On this I am in academic agreement
with our New Right enemies:

How can one be considered a "Christian" if they are following
Jewish laws? Even the New Testament tells you this is wrong in
Matthew 6:24 "No man can serve two masters: for either he will
hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the
one, and despise the other, Ye cannot serve God and mammon.".
