       The real problem is not those who are unaware of this, but those
       who are aware of this and who prefer this to being content,
       because they consider contentment boring. They would rather
       endlessly expand the range of possible desires so that they
       never run out of yet-unchased desires to chase after:

       Yes, low-desire makes China less economically competitive. The
       correct response is not to discourage low-desire in China, but
       to encourage low-desire in other countries also. But Xi couldn't
       even figure out this logic on the issue of birth rate FFS.....
