       The government rewarding the Ahimsa activist sets a good
       precedent. But if next time another humanist initiates violence
       against a non-human individual who is not a member of an
       endangered species (e.g. a Western scientist experimenting on a
       mouse) and an Ahimsa activist beats up the humanist, will this
       activist also be rewarded? Someone should do precisely this and
       then if the government instead presses charges (which is what I
       realistically expect will happen), cite this precedent as a
       defence. This will force public consciousness to confront the
       absurdity of the notion that only non-humans belonging to
       endangered species deserve protection from initiated violence.

       Actually, they made it clear with the attorney that they (the
       government) wouldn't condone violence, so this is not possible
       unfortunately.
