@christianbethel Here, it's largely defined as the era starting
in the 60s, peaking in the 90s, and officially ending with 9/11,
for very obvious reasons. It might be up to slight
interpretation for some people with regards to when it began and
peaked, but what matters is that you agree with that general
ballpark

In terms of pop culture, I would say that there was still
remnant Counterculture momentum behind many early 2000s
franchises, which actually led me to initially underestimate the
psychopolitical damage done by 9/11. It was not until "300" that
I realized something had gone terribly wrong with pop culture
and would only become worse if nothing was done.
Even then, I had held out hope for a few more years that the
Counterculture could be resuscitated from the brink:

You overestimate the influence of 9/11 and the war on terror on
current pop-culture. It's safe to assume it was an important
influence on the early and mid 2000s, but then the war on terror
mood evaporated. "Avatar", which started in 2009, is an
anti-war, anti-colonialist franchise.
2010s pop culture is always derided by the neoreactionary/racist
enemies as SJW infested.

What makes late 2000s and 2010s pop culture different from late
20th century pop culture is the influence of the internet and
online lifestyle, which brought back the myth of progress. I
remember that in early 2000s many people still said using
computers is for autistic nerds, which was in line with
counterculture's attitudes.

outright Eurocentrism.

Yes, but the movie was bad. That's the evidence that the
Counterculture had ended!
Equivalently, the James Bond franchise extolled essentially
colonialist attitudes during the Counterculture era, but the
movies were artistic embarassments. That was how we knew that we
were in the Counterculture era.

I consider social media to be the biggest culprit. Back in the
Counterculture era, pop culture celebrities were viewed with a
sense of awe by fans that has ceased to exist following the rise
of social media which enabled internet celebrities and
consequently devalued the prestige of being a celebrity. Thus
whereas in the old days following pop culture was literally a
religious activity from the perspective of the fans, these days
it is merely entertainment. There is no comparison in the level
of emotional investment. The celebrities themselves feel this
and react accordingly. In the old days they tried harder to live
up to their fans' idealized image of them, whereas these days
they hardly bother. This creates a vicious cycle of cynicism and
faithlessness. No one expects anyone to be special, so no one
tries to be special, and even when by chance someone turns up
who really is special, no one notices.

I believe fewer Americans hold Eurocentric views today than in
the 1990s. What gives a different impression is the fact that
social media allows these Eurocentrists to organize and become
visible, forcing mainstream media to notice them as well. In the
1990s there was only TV and it would not a racist program,
fearing being labelled as "fascist".

Didn't 75 million Eurocentricists just vote for Trump? How do 75
million people vote for a Eurocentricist like Trump, yet are not
considered Eurocentricists themselves?

We never said all Trump supporters are explicit Eurocentricists
because in reality many whom are Eurocentricists are often not
aware themselves that they are and end up promoting
Eurocentricism implicitly.
