In my opinion, only the first Kingdom movie is any good. All the
sequels suck.
As for Chun-Li, I would argue that she is a tribute to multiple
action stars rather than to Mao alone. The first that comes to
mind would be:

In fact, if you look at early concept sketches, Capcom drew
Chun-Li dressed (centre) almost exactly like Khan in the second
ITLOD3 scene:

As for Fist of Fury, I would add that in its 1994 remake Fist of
Legend:

is portrayed with significant positive relations with several
Japanese characters, including a love interest*, absent from the
original. Note also that Fearless, previously mentioned here:

can be considered plotwise a prequel to Fist of Fury/Fist of
Legend, as Huo Yuanjia's death at the end of Fearless is what

(* This idea actually originates in the 1981 TV drama version of
the same story, The Legendary Fok, which is my personal
favourite version of the story. Unlike Fist of Legend where
Chen's girlfriend is openly Japanese (and non-combatant), here
she is a Japanese spy who presents as Chinese in public, while
also infiltrating Western colonialist spaces, and thus is able
to see things from multiple perspectives. Fans are shipping this
pairing to this day:

I worry that many critics of it are fans of Western classical
music, therefore are actually criticizing it from even further
right, emphasizing country's lack of complexity, as the above
video does. Therefore such critics will become our opponents
when we claim Western classical music is inferior.
A critique of country that we can endorse must first take the
position that it is at least preferable to Western classical,
but then argue that it is merely less bad, in contrast to
Counterculture genres which are genuinely good. Basically, if
Western classical musicians are vampires, country musicians are
zombies whereas Counterculture musicians are vampire slayers
(who of course can also kill zombies if they need to).

After centuries of Western imposition of Western norms onto
"non-white" characters whether non-Western audiences like it or
not, finally we get the reverse: non-Western norms imposed onto
"white" characters regardless of whether Western audiences like
it or not! Well done Capcom!
I'm still not going to be playing SF6, though. They have to go
back to 2D for me to ever play another SF game. For now I'd

This the point: it is a form of assurance that neither person is
vacancy-filling, unlike in scenarios where either person takes
initiative to begin a relationship from nothing upon which the
subconscious motivation for the initiative is doomed to forever
remain suspect. Non-vacancy-filling is a prerequisite for
genuine romance. Which is not to say it has to be relatives.
Neighbours or meeting via school/work or chance encounters in
general are fine too.
