Is the Ukraine war driving a wedge between the US and the EU?
The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has become a source of
immense profit for the US. America has built a two-way system to
turn the war into a financial opportunity, but European allies
are frustrated at the way the Biden administration is handling

There is no problem with this at all. It is what America should
be doing proudly. Indeed, our aim is to get America to see
future war against Israel as another financial opportunity.

What Germany's 'shilly-shallying' means for Ukraine, Russia &
NATO | DW News
Western military leaders meeting in Germany have failed
to reach agreement on sending German-made battle tanks to
Ukraine. Kyiv was optimistic that Berlin would give approval for
its powerful Leopard 2 tanks to be delivered to the battlefield.
But Germany's defense minister, Boris Pistorius, said his
country was still weighing the decision. That sparked protests
in Berlin and pleas from other countries to provide the
weaponry.
I am glad that Germany is not sending the tanks yet:

We don't want the war to end so soon. If Poland is sending tanks
but Germany isn't, Russia could conceivably think that invading
Poland (via Belarus) could stop the supply of tanks into
Ukraine. This would be the best-case scenario for us.

'We can't trust them': Anti-Russia sentiment grows in Finland •
FRANCE 24 English
Finland shares a 1,300-kilometre border with Russia.
During the Cold War and until recently, its so-called
"Finlandisation" doctrine meant neutrality, but the war in
Ukraine has changed everything. Today, Finland is on its guard.
Anti-Russian sentiment runs strong among the population, which
has not forgotten the country's previous armed conflicts with
Moscow, as FRANCE 24’s team on the ground reports.
NATO's largest air deployment shows dominance - US Air Force
The largest air deployment exercise in NATO's history,
involving 25 nations and 250 aircraft, should not be
underestimated, the U.S. Air Force in Germany said on Wednesday
(14).
Speaking at Spangdahlem U.S. air base, American military
officials praised Germany’s supporting role in the Air Defender
2023 drill, calling it a “phenomenal job.”
Wednesday’s so called media day saw the take-off of U.S. Air
Force F-16 fighter jets based at Spangdahlem and air drills by
F-35 jets belonging to Vermont’s Air National Guard.
Why Erdogan is still blocking Sweden's NATO bid | DW News

approving Swedish membership of the military alliance before
July's summit. Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his country's attitude
to Sweden's accession was "not positive," as Sweden hadn't yet
fully addressed his security concerns. Turkey accuses Sweden of
being too lenient toward militant Kurdish groups. His comments

Sorry Russia, the Baltic Sea is NATO’s lake now
A resurgent NATO is set to tighten its grip on the Baltic Sea,
complicating a vital transit route for Vladimir Putin’s navy in
Russia’s backyard.
This week’s alliance summit in Vilnius was Finland’s first as a
NATO member. On the summit’s eve, Turkey agreed to back Sweden’s
bid to join — paving the way for a strategic shift in a region
Moscow once dominated.
NATO has steadily increased its control of the Baltic Sea — a
crucial maritime gateway for the Russian fleet which has bases
near St. Petersburg and in the heavily militarized Kaliningrad
exclave. During the Cold War, only Denmark and Germany at the
far western edge of the Baltic were in the alliance. Poland
joining NATO in 1999 and the three Baltic republics in 2004 put
most of the sea’s southern shore under alliance control.
Finland and Sweden in NATO will close the vise on the sea from
the north, leaving Russia with limited access.
Sweden and Finland joining also means expanding the alliance’s
presence in the Arctic, a region increasingly strategic to both
Russia and China.
Moscow isn’t pleased.
The two Nordic countries will help make the “magical promise” of
Article 5 more effective, according to Kristine Berzina,
managing director for the German Marshall Fund’s Geostrategy
North. Under Article 5 — NATO’s cornerstone — an armed attack
against one or more members is considered an attack on all.
