basaltic plateau at the southwest corner of Syria. It is
bordered by the Yarmouk River in the south, the Sea of Galilee
and Hula Valley in the west, the Anti-Lebanon with Mount Hermon
in the north and Wadi Raqqad in the east. Two thirds of the area
was occupied by Israel following the 1967 Six-Day War and then
effectively annexed in 1981, which was rejected by the
international community that continues to consider the territory
as Syrian and under Israeli occupation.

Israeli eyewitnesses challenge Israeli army's account of Majdal
Shams attack
"He said he would be imprisoned if he gave such
statements or information."
An Alaraby TV reporter testifies to the uncertainty surrounding
a rocket strike near a stadium in Majdal Shams, in the occupied
Golan Heights. According to the reporter, eyewitnesses including
an Israeli paramedic, dispute the Israeli army's claim that
Hezbollah fired the rocket, suggesting it might have been an
Iron Dome missile. Despite these testimonies, fears of
imprisonment prevent official documentation of their accounts.
Journalists face restricted access as the Israeli army secures
the area.
The attack killed at least 11 people, mostly children, and
injured at least 19 others. Hezbollah has denied the Israeli
claim of responsibility. Netanyahu vows retaliation, while the
EU calls for an independent probe into the incident.
[...]On 14 December 1981, Israel passed the Golan Heights
Law,[21] that extended Israeli "laws, jurisdiction and
administration" to the Golan Heights. Although the law
effectively annexed the territory to Israel, it did not
explicitly spell out a formal annexation.[136] The Golan Heights
Law is not recognized internationally except (as of March 2019)
by the United States,[137][138] and was declared "null and void
and without international legal effect" by United Nations
Security Council Resolution 497.[139][140][2][22] The resolution
demanded Israel rescind its decision.[139] Israel maintains that
it may retain the area, as the text of Resolution 242 calls for
"safe and recognised boundaries free from threats or acts of
force".[24] However, the international community reject Israeli
claims to title to the territory and regards it as sovereign
Syrian territory.[1][141][142]
During the negotiations regarding the text of United Nations
Security Council Resolution 242, U.S. Secretary of State Dean
Rusk explained that U.S. support for secure permanent frontiers
did not mean the United States supported territorial
changes.[143] The UN representative for the United Kingdom who
was responsible for negotiating and drafting the Security
Council resolution said that the actions of the Israeli
Government in establishing settlements and colonizing the Golan
are in clear defiance of Resolution 242.[144]
Syria continued to demand a full Israeli withdrawal to the 1967
borders, including a strip of land on the east shore of the Sea
of Galilee that Syria captured during the 1948–49 Arab–Israeli
War and occupied from 1949 to 1967. Successive Israeli
governments have considered an Israeli withdrawal from the Golan
in return for normalization of relations with Syria, provided
certain security concerns are met. Prior to 2000, Syrian
president Hafez al-Assad rejected normalization with
Israel.[...]

Israel Killed Haniyeh With "Bomb Smuggled Into Iran Guard
Guesthouse", Nasrallah Vows "Open Battle"
Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh’s assassination in Tehran on
July 31 was carried out using an explosive device, as per the
New York Times. The device was covertly smuggled into a
guesthouse where he was staying, the NYT cites seven Middle
Eastern officials as saying.
The bomb had been hidden approximately two months ago in the
guesthouse run and protected by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards
Corps (IRGC). The report says that the guesthouse is part of a
large compound, known as Neshat, in an upscale neighborhood of
northern Tehran.
The bomb was detonated remotely, five of the officials said,
once it was confirmed that Haniyeh was inside his room at the
guesthouse. Moreover, NYT says, “several US officials” have
reached the “assessment” that Israel was responsible for the
assassination.
The top Hamas leader was in Iran’s capital for the presidential
inauguration and was killed along with his bodyguard.
The jews learned the hard way through history that sword
Live by the sword, die by the sword.
Of further interest:
All who take the sword will perish by the sword... —
Jesus, Matthew 26:52.

Perhaps people think that I have come to cast peace upon
the world. They do not know that I have come to cast conflicts
upon the earth: fire, sword, war. — Jesus, Gospel of Thomas,
saying 17.
Is this the confusion the New Testament creates and one of the
reasons the Gospel of Thomas had to be kept out of the official
New Testament as conceived by the Counsel of Hippo and Carthage?
Jesus’ teachings often perplexed His listeners, and that
hasn’t changed today. The modern Bible reader gets stumped by
some puzzling and seemingly offensive statements, such as
Matthew 10:34, “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace
to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.”
Jesus came not to bring peace but a sword? What’s going on? We
call Him the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). Jesus also had a lot
to say on loving one’s enemies (Matthew 5:44; Luke 6:27–28),
forgiveness (Matthew 6:14–15; 18:21–22; Mark 11:25; Luke 6:37),
and non-retaliation (Matthew 5:38–39, 44; Luke 6:27–29). He also
cautioned Peter when Peter struck a soldier’s servant, telling
him, “Put away your sword” (Matthew 26:52, NLT). How do we then
understand the words “I came not to bring peace, but a sword”?
This difficult statement becomes clearer when we examine the
surrounding verses. Those who use Jesus’ statement that He came
not to bring peace but a sword to undermine the Lord’s
credibility must ignore the full teachings of Scriptures and
take the verse out of context.
Matthew 10 begins with Jesus sending His disciples on a mission,
providing them with instructions and crucial information. He
tells them to focus on Israel (Matthew 10:6), perform miracles
(verse 8), proclaim the arrival of the kingdom (verse 7), etc.
He also warns that they will be hated because of Him (verse 22).
In this chapter, Jesus reveals a conflict between those who
believe in Him and those who don’t—a conflict that is still
evident in our world. The cross reconciles humanity with God,
but among humans there will be a divide, as not everyone will
sign up for Team Jesus. While we’re called to pursue peace
(Romans 12:18; Hebrews 12:14), we must understand the separation
Jesus brings...
The New Oxford Annotated Bible claims, "Scholars generally agree
that the Gospels were written forty to sixty years after the
death of Jesus. They thus do not present eyewitness or
contemporary accounts of Jesus's life and teaching."[11][12] The
ESV Study Bible claims the following (as one argument for gospel
authenticity): Because Luke, as a second generation Christian,
claims to have retrieved eyewitness testimony (Luke 1:1–4), in
addition to having traveled with Paul the Apostle (Acts
16:10–17; arguing for an authorship date of c. AD 62[13]),
which is corroborated by Paul's Letter to the Colossians (Col.
4:14), Letter to Philemon (Philem. 23–24), and Second Letter to
Timothy (2 Tim. 4:11), the gospel account of Luke [b]"was
received as having apostolic endorsement and authority from Paul
and as a trustworthy record of the gospel that Paul preached"
(e.g. Rom. 2:16, according to Eusebius in Ecclesiastical History
3.4.8).[14]
The word testament
The word testament in the expression "New Testament" refers to a
Christian new covenant that Christians believe completes or
fulfils the Mosaic covenant (the Jewish covenant) that Yahweh
(the God of Israel) made with the people of Israel on Mount
Sinai through Moses, described in the books of the Old Testament
of the Christian Bible.[15] While Christianity traditionally
even claims this Christian new covenant as being prophesied in
the Jewish Bible's Book of Jeremiah,[16] Judaism traditionally
disagrees:[17][18]
[...]
HTML https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Testament
First of all, unlike Jesus and Mohammad, there is no evidence
Moses even existed:
[...]
The consensus of modern scholars is that the Pentateuch does not
give an accurate account of the origins of the Israelites, who
appear instead to have formed as an entity in the central
highlands of Canaan in the late second millennium BCE (around
the time of the Late Bronze Age collapse) from the indigenous
Canaanite culture.[1][2][3] Most modern scholars believe that
some elements in the story of the Exodus might have some
historical basis, but that any such basis has little resemblance
to the story told in the Pentateuch.[4][5][6] While the majority
of modern scholars date the composition of the Pentateuch to the
period of the Achaemenid Empire (5th century BCE), some of the
elements of this narrative are older, since allusions to the
story are made by 8th-century BCE prophets such as Amos and
Hosea.[6][7]
The story of the Exodus is central in Judaism. It is recounted
daily in Jewish prayers and celebrated in festivals such as
Passover. Early Christians saw the Exodus as a typological
prefiguration of resurrection and salvation by Jesus. The Exodus
is also recounted in the Qur'an as part of the extensive
referencing of the life of Moses, a major prophet in Islam.
The narrative has also resonated with various groups in more
recent centuries, such as among the early American settlers
fleeing religious persecution in Europe, and among African
Americans striving for freedom and civil rights.[8][9]
[...]
There are two main positions on the historicity of the Exodus in
modern scholarship.[1] The majority position is that the
biblical Exodus narrative has some historical basis, although
there is little of historical fact in it.[e][5][11] The other
position, often associated with the school of Biblical
minimalism,[25][26] is that the biblical exodus traditions are
the invention of the exilic and post-exilic Jewish community,
with little to no historical basis.[27]
The biblical Exodus narrative is best understood as a founding
myth of the Jewish people, providing an ideological foundation
for their culture and institutions, not an accurate depiction of
the history of the Israelites.[28][11] The view that the
biblical narrative is essentially correct unless it can
explicitly be proved wrong (Biblical maximalism) is today held
by "few, if any [...] in mainstream scholarship, only on the
more fundamentalist fringes."[1] There is no direct evidence for
any of the people or events of Exodus in non-biblical ancient
texts or in archaeological remains, and this has led most
scholars to omit the Exodus events from comprehensive histories
of Israel.
[...]
HTML https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Exodus
Furthermore, the history of the Essenes seems to make more
historical sense when we take into account trace evidence that
remains today and compare it with the history of the Essene:
[...]
The Essenes have gained fame in modern times as a result of the
discovery of an extensive group of religious documents known as
the Dead Sea Scrolls, which are commonly believed to be the
Essenes' library. The scrolls were found at Qumran, an
archaeological site situated along the northwestern shore of the
Dead Sea, believed to have been the dwelling place of an Essene
community. These documents preserve multiple copies of parts of
the Hebrew Bible along with deuterocanonical and sectarian
manuscripts, including writings such as the Community Rule, the
Damascus Document, and the War Scroll, which provide valuable
insights into the communal life, ideology and theology of the
Essenes.
[...]
While this Hebrew name is not the etymology of Essaioi/Esseni,
the Aramaic equivalent Hesi'im known from Eastern Aramaic texts
has been suggested.[28] Others suggest that Essene is a
transliteration of the Hebrew word ḥiṣonim
(ḥiṣon "outside"), which the Mishnah (e.g. Megillah
4:8[29]) uses to describe various sectarian groups. Another
theory is that the name was borrowed from a cult of devotees to
Artemis in Anatolia, whose demeanor and dress somewhat resembled
those of the group in Judea.[30]
[...]
According to Joseph Lightfoot, the Church Father Epiphanius
(writing in the 4th century CE) seems to make a distinction
between two main groups within the Essenes:[28] "Of those that
came before his [Elxai, an Ossaean prophet] time and during it,
the Ossaeans and the Nasaraeans."Part 18[56] Epiphanius
describes each group as following:
The Nasaraean—they were Jews by nationality—originally from
Gileaditis, Bashanitis and the Transjordan... They acknowledged
Moses and believed that he had received laws—not this law,
however, but some other. And so, they were Jews who kept all the
Jewish observances, but they would not offer sacrifice or eat
meat. They considered it unlawful to eat meat or make sacrifices
with it. They claim that these Books are fictions, and that none
of these customs were instituted by the fathers. This was the
difference between the Nasaraean and the others...[57]
After this Nasaraean sect in turn comes another closely
connected with them, called the Ossaeans. These are Jews like
the former... originally came from Nabataea, Ituraea, Moabitis,
and Arielis, the lands beyond the basin of what sacred scripture
called the Salt Sea... Though it is different from the other six
of these seven sects, it causes schism only by forbidding the
books of Moses like the Nasaraean.[56]
[...]
According to Josephus, the Essenes had settled "not in one city"
but "in large numbers in every town".[32] Philo speaks of "more
than four thousand" Essaioi living in "Palestine and Syria",[33]
more precisely, "in many cities of Judaea and in many villages
and grouped in great societies of many members".[34]

The name of Jesus in Aramaic is:
Eashoa Msheekha, or:
How do you say Jesus in Aramaic?
Perhaps people think that I have come to cast peace upon
the world. They do not know that I have come to cast conflicts
upon the earth: fire, sword, war. — Jesus, Gospel of Thomas,
saying 17.
This is bad wording that makes it sound like peace is not the
aim. I prefer the version in my Words of Jesus page:
“Verily I have come to send peace upon earth, but when I
speak, behold a sword follows. I have come to unite, but behold,
a son shall be at variance with his father, and a daughter with
her mother, and a daughter-in-law with her mother-in-law. And a
man’s foes shall be they of his own household. For the unjust
cannot mate with them that are just.”
This more clearly expresses that peace is indeed the aim, but
that true peace is not avoidance of conflict but what awaits
after victory in the correct conflict (justice vs injustice). It
can further be read to mean that reproduction is the root
injustice, and hence that the correct conflict is the conflict
to end reproduction.

It's OK for pagers to be "white":
HTML https://www.yahoo.com/news/dozens-wounded-pagers-detonate-lebanon-135542720.html
Hezbollah hit by a wave of exploding pagers and blames
Israel. At least 9 dead, thousands injured
...
BEIRUT (AP) — Pagers used by hundreds of members of the militant
group Hezbollah exploded near simultaneously in Lebanon and
Syria on Tuesday, killing at least nine people – including an
8-year-old girl -- and wounding several thousand, officials
said. Hezbollah and the Lebanese government blamed Israel for
what appeared to be a sophisticated, remote attack.
...
At about 3:30 p.m. local time on Tuesday, as people shopped for
groceries, sat in cafes or drove cars and motorcycles in the
afternoon traffic, the pagers in their hands or pockets started
heating up and then exploding — leaving blood-splattered scenes
and panicking bystanders.
...
Experts said the pager explosions pointed to a long-planned
operation, possibly carried out by infiltrating the supply chain
and rigging the devices with explosives before they were
delivered to Lebanon.
Whatever the means, it targeted an extraordinary breadth of
people with hundreds of small explosions — all at once, wherever
the pager carrier happened to be — that left some maimed.
One video circulating online showed a man picking through
produce at a grocery store when the bag he was carrying at his
hip explodes, sending him sprawling to the ground and bystanders
running.
At overwhelmed hospitals, the wounded were rushed in on
stretchers, some with missing hands, faces partly blown away or
gaping holes at their hips and legs near the pocket area,
according to AP photographers. On a main road in central Beirut,
a car door was splattered with blood and the windshield cracked.
Lebanon’s health minister, Firas Abiad, said to Qatar's Al
Jazeera network at least nine people were killed, including an
8-year-old girl, and some 2,750 were wounded — 200 of them
critically — by the explosions. Most had injuries in the face,
hand, or around the abdomen.
Hezbollah said in a statement that two of its members were among
those killed. One of them was Mahdi Ammar, the son of a
Hezbollah member in parliament, and two sons of other prominent
figures were wounded, said the Hezbollah official who spoke
anonymously.
“We hold the Israeli enemy fully responsible for this criminal
aggression that also targeted civilians,” Hezbollah said, adding
that Israel will “for sure get its just punishment.”
Iranian state-run IRNA news agency said that the country’s
ambassador, Mojtaba Amani, was superficially wounded by an
exploding pager and was being treated at a hospital.
Previously, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah had warned the
group’s members not to carry cellphones, saying they could be
used by Israel to track their movements and carry out targeted
strikes.
Sean Moorhouse, a former British Army officer and explosive
ordnance disposal expert, said videos of the blasts suggested a
small explosive charge – as small as a pencil eraser – had been
placed into the devices. They would have had to have been rigged
prior to delivery.
“It seems very likely that all of these encrypted pagers were
modified prior to Hezbollah purchasing them, which implies a
very successful Mossad operation.” he said, referring to
Israel’s foreign intelligence agency.
Israel has a long history of carrying out deadly operations well
beyond its borders.
In January, Saleh Arouri, a senior Hamas official, was killed in
an airstrike on a Beirut apartment building blamed on Israel. In
July, Israel assassinated Hezbollah’s top commander in another
airstrike. Hours later, Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas’ supreme leader,
died in a mysterious explosion in Iran, also blamed on Israel.
Israel has killed Hamas militants in the past with booby-trapped
cellphones and it’s widely believed to have been behind the
Stuxnet computer virus attack on Iran’s nuclear program in
2010.
