Speaking of the Switch:
HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-KAU3bK1Y8
Pretty awesome IMO! Also, NES and SNES games are already on the
Switch btw. A good way for young people like me to get into
Retro games. I used to play Nintendo games (still 3D), but I
increasingly lost interest in video games during my teen years,
as I felt they were becoming more and more Westernized.
EDIT: should probably move to "Counterculture" thread

The Pokemon games were my first formal introduction to 2D games.
Playing them allowed me for the first time to experience the
feeling of truly being immersed in the game world. I would later
search for such experiences in games, but would be unable to
find them as I thought the only way for games to achieve this
was to be more "realistic", which led to me playing 3D
open/world games. The anime was also really good as it glorified
individualism and showed the Kampf of Satoshi/Ash, which seemed
to mirror what the game was doing.
Unfortunately, looking back, the Pokemon series seems very
non-Aryan in its theme, as it revolves around using the Pokemon
as goys by capturing them, and breeding them. However, given
that the Pokemon series itself was made in part by Creatures
Inc. (formerly Ape Inc), the company behind the Mother series,
which largely inspired the gameplay of Pokemon, it may be
possible to experience the immersive experience sans the
ignobility by playing that series instead. But alas, I have lost
interest in video games completely by this point, given the
depressing state of the world.
What do you guys think?

"Westerners prefer more realistic art styles because it is more
mature, and in their minds, only that which is more mature is
more "serious"."
Recall over here:
HTML https://trueleft.createaforum.com/issues/media-decolonization/msg4688/#msg4688
"Prince of Persia Trilogy"
I am happy to discuss Prince of Persia, however, as it is
actually an example of what I was talking about:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_of_Persia_(1989_video_game)
Mechner used an animation technique called rotoscoping,
with which he used footage to animate the characters' sprites
and movements. To create the protagonist's platforming motions,
Mechner traced video footage of his younger brother running and
jumping in white clothes.[9] To create the game's sword fighting
sprites, Mechner rotoscoped the final duel scene between Errol
Flynn and Basil Rathbone in the 1938 film The Adventures of
Robin Hood.[8] Though the use of rotoscoping was regarded as a
pioneering move, Mechner later recalled that "when we made that
decision with Prince of Persia, I wasn't thinking about being
cutting edge—we did it essentially because I'm not that good at
drawing or animation, and it was the only way I could think of
to get lifelike movement."[10]
This reinforces the thesis of my previous post. Even in 2D,
Westerners were always trying to make sprite animation imitate
realistic motion as closely as possible:
HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xv20j8ChtRY
The excessive realism made controlling the character just plain
irritating due to the lag between input and response. For
example, when you press jump, the Prince doesn't jump right
away, instead he begins his Realistic Jump Animation Sequence
which consists of coiling up and then jumping and then
uncoiling, during which you may have already changed your mind
about what you want him to do but have to wait for him to finish
the whole move before you can tell him to do something else.
Therefore the whole game experience is of trying to send delayed
instructions to the Prince, rather than ever being able to feel
that you are the Prince.
Compare with non-Western sprite animation which thoroughly
disregards realism:
HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmnMq2Hw72w
yet result in far more player-friendly control (you instantly
feel like you have become Mario) and hence ultimately far more
captivating games.
For the record:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jordan_Mechner
Mechner was born in New York City, into a family of
European Jewish immigrants.

Here is another Western game animated in the same irritating
Western realist style using rotoscoping:
HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyY9Sz13d0A
which unsurprisingly won praise from the Western pro-realism
reviewers (who simultaneously admitted that it actually sucks
(see bold)):
HTML https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flashback_(1992_video_game)#Reception
Computer Gaming World approved of Flashback's "superbly
rotoscoped graphics", "fluid movement", and sound card audio.
While criticizing the awkward interface and use of save points,
the magazine concluded that it "is an excellent game that truly
creates a sense of reality".[23]
...
Nintendo Power praised the graphics, story and animation calling
it "almost cinematic" while noting that the play control takes
"some getting used to".[24]
...
In 1995, Total! placed the game 24th on their Top 100 SNES
Games. The lauded the rotoscoped graphics saying at the time
"the most realistic animation ever seen in a
platformer."
Contrast with the incomparably superior non-Western style:

Should I stop playing games like The Sims and Tiny Life (which
is like The Sims 1, but retro style)?
I also don't get the popularity of multiplayer games like Among
Us. But it seems to be better than Minecraft or Roblox.
I've seen that the crowds of The Sims and Tiny Life tend to be
the best, along with retro gamers.

I personally never liked The Sims. In general I avoid games with
no ending. And the very notion of simulating real life is
antithetical to what I expect from a game:
HTML https://trueleft.createaforum.com/counterculture-era/recommended-games-to-play/msg16320/#msg16320
It’s as though the Western aim is to create within
virtual space yet another material world as realistic as the
real material world, whereas the non-Western aim is to use
virtual space to help people momentarily forget the real
material world in favour of a much simpler world.
rp also had a good post about this:
HTML https://trueleft.createaforum.com/counterculture-era/recommended-games-to-play/msg13162/#msg13162
open-world games are Yahwist simulators.
HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zy0ButIPqq4
It goes without saying that I infinitely prefer the non-Western
approach to simulation games:
