program of deportations would be followed. First, almost all

rumors that they were for Jews.[45]

"Unfortunately, we have had to give up Katyn. The Bolsheviks

officers. That episode is one that is going to cause us quite a

Army had recaptured Smolensk, around September–October 1943,
NKVD forces began a cover-up operation.[24][55] They destroyed a
cemetery the Germans had permitted the Polish Red Cross to build
and removed other evidence.[24] Witnesses were "interviewed" and
threatened with arrest for collaborating with the Nazis if their
testimonies disagreed with the official line.[55][56] As none of
the documents found on the dead had dates later than April 1940,
the Soviet secret police planted false evidence to place the
apparent time of the massacre in mid-1941, when the German
military had controlled the area.[56]

minutes. The page on Zyklon B states that victims took about 20
minutes to die, so we can (very) roughly estimate the average
concentration of HCN in the gas chambers to be about 700ppm.
That's 700cm3 of HCN per 1m3 of air, or 0.7dm3 of HCN - which
works out to be 0.7/24 = 0.029mol of HCN per cubic meter of gas
chamber. A Google search for the sizes of Nazi gas chambers
yields mostly Holocaust denial sites, one of which cites the
size as 250 square meters with an unusually low ceiling. I can't
be arsed to look for more reputable sources, but the website
sourced it from the book of a Holocaust survivor, so I'll leave
it at that and give an approximate gas chamber volume of 250 x 2
= 500m3 . Total amount of HCN gas then equals 0.029 x 500 = 14.5
mol of HCN per room, which contained about 1000 people
(estimating from a line in the Zyklon B article that said 600 +
250 people were killed in the first Auschwitz gassing). That
makes 14.5 x 960 = 14,000 mol of HCN used in total. Total mass
of HCN x Molar mass of HCN = 14,000 x 27 = 378,000g = 380kg of
HCN.
I can't find info on the makeup of Zyklon B, so I'll assume 1kg
of the stuff contains roughly 95% HCN, to fudge the total mass
of Zyklon B up to 400kg. Since HCN at that time was a pesticide,
we can (very roughly) look towards today's pesticide prices as
an estimate for how much gassing the Jews cost Hitler. This
paper lists the USA's pesticide expenditure as 20 billion USD
per 2.5 million tons - 8000 USD per 1000kg. This finally gives
Hitler's gas bill as 0.378 x 8000 ≈ $3000, which is either
a weekend trip for two to Hawaii, or one pack of cigarettes a
day for a year (according to the Dictionary of Numbers Chrome
app). This figure is definitely wildly inaccurate, and print
sources would probably have the actual figure listed somewhere,
but here ya go.
tl;dr: About $3000 - Hitler could've just gone to Hawaii twice.
