What is supposed to be a proud jamboree for scouts from around
the world turned into a battle against the current heat wave.
Just imagine having to stay in outdoor camps all day long at 35C
or over, not to mention the sanitary conditions that usually are
difficult to manage in the open for the thousands. As the
organizers, South Korea remain heedless to calls for cutting
short the jamboree - can't blame the several countries that have
already quit! I expect more are to follow suit.....

I disagree that being a h0rny idiot and being mature and modern
are mutually exclusive things. If anything, the more mature and

I have not heard this credited to Chinese, but I have heard
something similar from Aristotle's virtue theory. However, since
Confucius also promoted virtue theory, he likely would have said
something along those lines. In that case, the attitude could be
called Confucianist. But since we have established that
Confucianism did not gain much traction in Southern China, there
is no contradiction between ancient Chinese wisdom and
present-day Taiwanese behavior.
