       Because they are rules? Duh!

       > I'll never forget the reaction I got when I crossed the street
before the green man appeared on the crosswalk sign. That's
because even when there isn't a car in sight, people in Japan
wait to cross the street until they are officially signaled to
       do so.
       --- End Quote ---
You should have been arrested. You weren't because most Japanese
are Eurocentrists. Which brings us onto:
       --- Quote ---
       > 2.And do you ever get exhausted dealing with loud, clueless
       gaijin like me?
       --- End Quote ---
       The Eurocentrists don't.
       --- Quote ---
       > Generally speaking, people in Japan are very polite and
law-abiding. So you'd probably think that visiting gaijin
(outsiders), with their tendencies to talk loudly and break the
rules (ahem, me), would be treated with distain. Yet, I was
never yelled at or treated poorly. In fact, everyone I met
seemed to have endless patience and understanding for
       foreigners.
       --- End Quote ---
You weren't treated poorly despite your bad behaviour because
you are "white". "Non-white" foreigners in Japan (even those who
behave well) have a very different experience from yours.
       --- Quote ---
       > 3.As a culture with so many social ~rules~, why is it still
       okay to loudly slurp noodles?

       Why would it not be?
       --- Quote ---
       > 6.Why can you still smoke in some restaurants and bars, but
you can't light up on the street?
       --- End Quote ---
Because there are people on the street who don't want to breathe
       others' secondhand smoke?
       --- Quote ---
       > while you can still smoke inside some restaurants and bars or
light up in your office's smoking room (seriously), if you want
to smoke outside, you'll often have to go to a designated,
       outdoor smoking area.
       >
       > Confusing. Right? I'd love some answers.
       --- End Quote ---
If a restaurant/bar allows smoking, non-smokers will know to
avoid it and go to some another restaurant/bar instead.
Non-smokers will also avoid the office smoking room. But how can
non-smokers be obliged to avoid smokers on the street? Therefore
outdoor smokers should be restricted to designated outdoor
smoking areas. No, it is not confusing at all. It is elementary
ethics. You find it confusing only because you are a Westerner.
       --- Quote ---
       > 7.Does it ever feel funny bowing to people?
       --- End Quote ---
       Fuck you.
       --- Quote ---
       > 8.Does it ever annoy you you to constantly take your shoes off
       and on?
       --- End Quote ---
       You annoy me.
       --- Quote ---
       > 9.Do the recycling protocols ever confuse you?
       >
       > Japan takes recycling to the next level. In the US, we throw
the entire plastic water bottle in the recycling bin. In Japan,
however, you remove the cap and drop it in the designated cap
bin, peel off the plastic sleeve and place it in a second bin,
and finally, put the plastic bottle itself in a third bin.
       --- End Quote ---
That means the government doesn't hire workers to sort the
stuff, which needs to be done sooner or later anyway. Either way
       is fine.
       --- Quote ---
       > 10.For a country that's so conscious about recycling, why are
fruits with a peel still wrapped in plastic? And why do you use
       so many plastic bags?
       --- End Quote ---
This is a valid criticism. (But Japan used zero plastic prior to
       contact with Western civilization.)
       --- Quote ---
       > 14.Are things like maid cafes and girl bands with a troupe of
       adult male fans really ok?
       --- End Quote ---
Maid cafes are a manifestation of Eurocentrism (note the
outfits), so from this perspective they are not OK. But stigma
against MAPs (see previous post) is a Western attitude.
       --- Quote ---
       > I went to see a young, all-female J-pop group perform in Tokyo
and was shocked to find that the audience that knew every word
and sported the band's gear was mainly comprised of men in their
       40s.
       >
       > Is it all okay? Or is there something a bit weird about it?
       --- End Quote ---
I fail to see a problem.
       --- Quote ---
       > 16.How come finding a vegetarian meal is so tricky?
       --- End Quote ---
This is a valid criticism. (But vegetarian food was easier to
find prior to the Meiji Restoration which adopted Western ideas
       about nutrition.)

Why celebrate Halloween this way? Does it have to be fanatic
       revelry?
Halloween was hardly ever mentioned in the Far East couple of
decades ago, not until it's hyped up by the bar/booze districts,
by special make-up cosmetic products, scary props and costumes
etc. that's all part of the consumerism plot.
And of course, Halloween is "Western", hence the attraction to
"western bound hearts" and the multitudinous support for its
       celebration.....how appalling!

How non-romantics (i.e. Westerners) view relationships (note in
       particular the non-Aryan blood memory):
  HTML https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/there_are_plenty_of_fish_in_the_sea
       --- Quote ---
       > there are plenty of fish in the sea
       > Alternative forms
       > there are plenty more fish in the sea

       > Said in consolation after rejection (especially a romantic
       one) or other failure.
       >
       --- End Quote ---
So in addition to being non-romantic, it is also extremely
sexist, as it views women as sexual goys to be "acquired".

       "sexist"
I disagree, as women also apply this proverb with regard to men.
I agree that it is anti-romantic no matter who is applying it to
       whom.
For some reason, and despite obvious evidence to the contrary
such as as above, many people continue to imagine that Western
civilization is more romantic than other civilizations, while
most of those who know better do not bother to correct them. We
       should do so.

"I disagree, as women also apply this proverb with regard to
       men."
I assumed women (even non-Aryan ones) were focused on getting
"Chad" to commit, but I admit this was purely speculation from
going through the manosphere. But even in this case, the fishing
analogy could still apply, as the women's strategy could be
compared to prize fishing (i.e. trying to catch the biggest
fish), while the men's could be compared to regular fishing.

Neither of which can be considered romantic, as in either case
one fish can be replaced by another of similar size.
Irreplaceability is a prerequisite for romanticism, as only when
you consider someone irreplaceable are you valuing them as an
       individual.
       As I alluded to here:
  HTML https://trueleft.createaforum.com/human-evolution/mate-choice-copying/msg20828/#msg20828
we should expect more monarchist civilizations to be more
romantic. We should thus expect Western civilization, which is
the least monarchist, to also be dead last in romanticism.

Are you familiar with the term "oneitis"? This is the term PUA
redpilllers coined to refer to those who remain fixated on
pursuing one individual. Redpillers view this similar to a
disease, as according to them, all women are replaceable, and
       one should just "move on".

A phrase that i hate hearing from western people is "what's your
body count?", which is used when asking someone how many people
they have slept with. I can tell that people who say this view
sexual partners simply as flesh or goys.

None of the people here are particularly good. The original
       poster isn’t bad because he’s a Eurocentrist, but because he’s a
reactionary choosing a partner based on identitarianism. Some of
the people commenting and calling him a simp are judging the
character of “Asian” American women as a whole, and avoiding
them because of that. This is also wrong. I would argue that the
commenters in disagreement with him are the most Eurocentric,
because they’d rather get with a “white” woman than an “Asian”
woman. They are quite literally putting “white” women on a
pedestal by explicitly avoiding “Asian” women and going for
“white” women. Granted, there might be people who are more
consistent in that they avoid both “Asian” women AND “white”
women, but I don’t think that’s common. The male “Asian”
solidarity groups, including r/aznidentity, generally seem to
have a problem of members getting with “white” women to prove
themselves better than “white” men who get with “Asian” women.
This desire is rooted in insecurity, which I would definitely
       not classify as reproductive decolonization
The second top comment even admits to this, indirectly:

       > Additionally, dating out improves our reputation, dating in
       does not.
