Westerners (note the thoroughly humanist worldview of all the
arguments presented) who perceive risks in AI still do not want
to end it, but merely want to slow down its rate of development,
and then only in order to secure its longer-term development:

Westerners merged with AI will then develop even more advanced
AI, which will then require merging with the new AI to compete
against it, and so on. Nothing is ever solved. Just like with
