Xi Jinping delivers his strongest statement on Russia-Ukraine
conflict | International News | WION
--- Quote ---
> Chinese president Xi Jinping has called for 'maximum
restraint' in Ukraine and said China is "pained to see the
flames of war reignited in Europe," in his strongest statement
to date on the conflict. China, which has refused to condemn
Russia's actions in Ukraine or to call them an invasion, has
repeatedly expressed its opposition to what it describes as
illegal sanctions on Russia.

Of course this False Leftist ultimately ends up opposing
sending jets because "defense contractors are making money". I
don't care if defense contractors are making money; I only care
that their products are going to the right people.

Debunked Russian conspiracy about the US is spreading in America
--- Quote ---
> A new conspiracy theory has become popular among some of the
online communities that formed around QAnon -- one
simultaneously being promoted by the Kremlin as a justification
for its invasion of Ukraine. The false claim: the United States
is developing bioweapons in Ukraine and Vladimir Putin has
stepped in to save the day and destroy the weapons. CNN's Katie
Polglase reports.

Chinese state media pushes Putin's lies about Ukraine invasion
--- Quote ---
> In public statements and at international summits, Chinese
officials have attempted to stake out a seemingly neutral
position on the war in Ukraine, neither condemning Russian
actions nor ruling out the possibility Beijing could act as a
mediator in a push for peace.
> But while its international messaging has kept many guessing
as to Beijing's true intentions, much of its domestic media
coverage of Russia's invasion tells a wholly different story.
CNN's David Culver reports.

'This Is A Nightmare For China': Why Joe Thinks Putin's War
Spells Doom For China's Plans
--- Quote ---
> Joe Scarboutgh and the Morning Joe panel discuss why Putin's
invasion of Ukraine is such a "nightmare" for China. The current
global world order, Joe says, is something "the Chinese have
maniacally been focused on dominating for 30 years, and now that
they're in the position where they can start dominating, Putin
is setting it on fire."

China certainly has not been behaving as a "dominating power" in
recent months many could argue....

I support more left-leaning commentary along the lines of
Scarborough's. At least he is searching for divergences in
thinking between China and Russia, which is better than
presenting the two in presumed perfect unison as many other
False Left pundits tend to. This way, listeners opposed to
Russia's invasion can find common ground with China, instead of
thinking: "If I am hostile to Russia, I must be hostile to China
also because Xi probably privately encouraged Putin to invade."
In the same way, it would be good to also hear from US media
about things China is doing that might be upsetting Russia's
plans.

According to BSs and PCs, China and Russia belong in the same
camp of "Eurasia", while Dugin's Eurasianism explicitly
advocates viewing China as an enemy.

While I agree with this basic statement, I disagree with the
idea that Russian de-escalation should be the objective behind
improving relations with China, as this signals to Russia that
we are uniting only out of common fear of Russia, which will
only further embolden Russia. On the contrary, now is the best
timing to simultaneously open as many additional fronts of war
against Russia as possible in short order, of which China could
potentially be one:
HTML https://trueleft.createaforum.com/issues/diplomatic-decolonization/msg1207/#msg1207
just as Japan could be another:
HTML https://trueleft.createaforum.com/issues/diplomatic-decolonization/msg11692/#msg11692
Germany could be another:
HTML https://trueleft.createaforum.com/colonial-era/what-was-prussia/msg11864/#msg11864
and so on. This sends Russia the signal that we are not uniting
out of common fear of Russia, but uniting to take back once and
for all everything it has stolen from us over the centuries!

The US should be sincerely happy to see China take back Outer
Manchuria, and must publicly and explicitly communicate such to
China. Anything less and China can be expected to remain
suspicious that the US merely wants to use China to help
Ukraine, and that the US at the end of the day cares only about
Ukraine, not about China (which at present is probably close to
the truth).

If only China would explicitly and openly state that it wants
all of it's former territory back that was wrongfully stolen
from it during the colonial era. This obviously will not happen
with it's current posturing though....
