This could easily have been staged by Trump (and there are also
many commenters theorizing in this direction), but it's the woke
reactions from leftists who assume it is real (disregarding
whether the assumption is accurate) that I want to praise:

The difference is that Trump will always claim (falsely if
necessary) that he is overwhelmingly popular, as explained here:

True Leftists should never make such a claim. Instead, we should
openly argue that what is popular is almost never what is
ethical, and the duty of leaders is to be ethical, not
necessarily popular. All non-Western civilizations understood
this. Only Western civilization (being more concerned with power
than with ethics) rejected this. Thus only Western civilization
degraded to democracy on its own, and it was Western
civilization (having thus been rewarded by Yahweh with increased
power) which thereafter imposed democracy on most of the rest of
the world, including America. It is time for America to
reconnect to its pre-colonial autocratic past.
