The Western mindset regarding environmental sustainability is to
encourage all the things circled in green (except eating a
plant-based diet, for some reason). Note that Western
civilization is the reason why basically all the 'problems'
listed on the chart exist in the first place. (Further note that
the person making the chart had to duplicate part of the chart
to expand the bars in order to fill space and make it look like
the other options even had any impact...)

HTML https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Wynes_Nicholas_CO2_emissions_savings.svg
Not having a child is an order of magnitude better than all the
other 'solutions' combined. However, this would break the cycle
and there would be nothing to continue sustaining if children
stopped being born, so Westerners do not even consider this as a
potential option.
Of course, in reality, society would continue to exist and
sustain itself even if families were limited to a single child
(China has certainly not stopped existing). I guess the Western
mindset is so heavily linked with infinite expansion that simply
imagining all the potential grand-children, great-grandchildren,
etc. that could not be born in the future is considered
antithetical to the Western way of looking at sustainability.
Therefore reducing the number of humans is off the table since
they do not view that as a future worth sustaining?

It has long been a popular "conspiracy" to suggest that medical
companies would rather people be unhealthy in order to continue
charging them for treatment, instead of curing them. Well, now
it is proven that this is indeed how they think.
The least cynical interpretation for the following article is
that these companies are simply going to stop investing in
researching medical techniques for certain types of diseases
which can be eradicated, since they will not yield a sustainable
return on investment. This is different than intentionally
withholding (already existing) curative treatment to patients in
order to suck the money out of them with recurring treatments
like a vampire. Or buying and suppressing the rights to
already-existing treatments, in order to continue using ones
which are more financially sustainable to the companies.
Goldman Sachs asks in biotech research report: ‘Is curing
patients a sustainable business model?’
[...]
“The potential to deliver ‘one shot cures’ is one of the most
attractive aspects of gene therapy, genetically-engineered cell
therapy and gene editing. However, such treatments offer a very
different outlook with regard to recurring revenue versus
chronic therapies,” analyst Salveen Richter wrote in the note to
clients Tuesday. “While this proposition carries tremendous
value for patients and society, it could represent a challenge
for genome medicine developers looking for sustained cash flow.”
[...]
“GILD is a case in point, where the success of its hepatitis C
franchise has gradually exhausted the available pool of
treatable patients,” the analyst wrote. “In the case of
infectious diseases such as hepatitis C, curing existing
patients also decreases the number of carriers able to transmit
the virus to new patients, thus the incident pool also declines
… Where an incident pool remains stable (eg, in cancer) the
potential for a cure poses less risk to the sustainability of a
franchise.”
What happens when Western civilization assumes a species had

HTML https://www.yahoo.com/news/back-brink-iberian-lynx-population-132926823.html
MADRID (Reuters) - The Iberian lynx population in
Portugal and Spain rose above 1,000 last year after 414 cubs
were born under a joint breeding programme, in a major leap
towards conserving the endangered species, Spain's Environment
Ministry said on Friday.
The initiative was launched in 2002 when the number of Iberian
lynx, a wild cat native to the Iberian Peninsula, plunged to
just 94 in Spain and none in Portugal, due to farming, poaching
and road accidents.
By the end of last year there were 1,111 Iberian lynx living in
the wild in the region, including 239 breeding females, the
ministry said in a statement. The number was a record high since
monitoring of the species began, it said.
Westerners do sustainable evil for cash prizes!
MIAMI (AP) — Professional python hunters and amateurs
alike have a chance to win prizes in Florida's annual hunt for
the biggest snakes — the Burmese pythons that are ravaging the
state's native species.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the state's annual contest
on Thursday: It will run from July 9 to 18 and include prizes
for both pros and novices. In both categories, there will be a
$2,500 prize for catching the most pythons and $1,500 for the
longest.
It is DeSantis who needs to be hunted:
HTML https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ron_DeSantis
In 2013, DeSantis introduced the Palestinian
Accountability Act, which would halt U.S. aid to the Palestinian
Authority until it formally recognizes Israel's right to exist
as a Jewish state and cuts off all ties with the militant group
Hamas.[158]
In 2016, DeSantis co-introduced the Non-Discrimination of Israel
in Labeling Act, which would defend the right of Israeli
producers to label products manufactured in the West Bank as
"Israeli", "Made in Israel," or "Product of Israel."[159] He
supported the relocation of the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to
Jerusalem.[160]
As governor, DeSantis pledged to be "the most pro-Israel
governor in America".[161] In light of Airbnb's decision to no
longer allow rentals of Israeli settlements in the West Bank, on
January 15, 2019, DeSantis directed the Department of Management
Services to no longer reimburse state employees and state
contractors for travel expenses incurred with Airbnb;[162] later
that month he accepted the State Board of Administration's
recommendation to place Airbnb on Florida's "Scrutinized
Companies List".[163] In May, DeSantis visited Israel,
accompanied by megadonor to his 2018 gubernatorial campaign and
staunch Zionist Sheldon Adelson, to attend a ceremony held
between Florida Atlantic University and Ariel University,
celebrating the agreement of a plan to exchange and research
opportunities between the universities' respective
students.[161][164]
...
DeSantis was a critic of Obama's immigration policies; he
opposed Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and
Deferred Action for Parents of Americans (DAPA) and accused him
of failing to enforce immigration laws.[179][180] DeSantis
opposes "sanctuary cities."[181] He is a co-sponsor of the
Establishing Mandatory Minimums for Illegal Reentry Act of 2015,
also known as Kate's Law, which would amend the Immigration and
Nationality Act to increase penalties applicable to aliens who
unlawfully reenter the United States after being removed.[182]
In 2017, DeSantis spoke at ACT! for America, an anti-Muslim
advocacy group.[183]
...
According to the Tampa Bay Times, DeSantis "made a name for
himself [in 2017] attacking special counsel Robert Mueller's
investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election."[192]
DeSantis proposed an amendment that would halt funding for
Mueller's 2017 Special Counsel investigation probe six months
after the amendment's passage.[193] In addition, the provision
would prohibit Mueller from investigating matters that occurred
before June 2015, when Trump launched his presidential
campaign.[194] In December 2017, DeSantis asserted that if there
was any evidence of collusion between members of the Trump
campaign and Russian officials, it would already have been
leaked.[195]
...
After Donald Trump lost the 2020 election and refused to concede
while making false claims of fraud, DeSantis and other
Republicans proposed changes to restrict voting rights in
Florida.
...
In response to social media networks removing Donald Trump from
their platforms, DeSantis and other Florida Republicans pushed
legislation in the Florida legislature to prohibit technology
companies from de-platforming political candidates.[214]
How to do Western science contd.:
HTML https://us.yahoo.com/news/backlash-against-frightening-tests-whales-235349303.html
The project, the largest of its kind ever attempted, is
due to begin any day now.
...
The goal is to use huge nets to drive 12 young minke whales into
a holding pen - and local observers have confirmed that
everything seems ready.
According to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, the official
body that's authorised the project, each whale will be held for
up to six hours.
They will undergo blood tests and have electrodes fitted under
their skin to measure their hearing.
...
It is officially acknowledged that the whales will experience
pain, particularly while they are held between two rafts while
their hearing is tested.
The Norwegian Food Safety Authority judges that the severity of
the experiment will be "moderate" and it defines what that
means: "Animals are likely to experience short-term moderate
pain, suffering or distress, or long-lasting mild pain,
suffering or distress," it said.
It also said that "moderately severe" experiments of this kind
"are likely to cause moderate impairment of the well-being or
general condition of the animals".
But it concludes that by learning more about how noise pollution
disturbs marine animals, the research will benefit minke whales
and other species - so it should go ahead.
In other words, because noise pollution disturbs marine animals,
Western scientists will disturb them with even more noise in
order to study how disturbed they can be.

HTML https://sports.yahoo.com/florida-diver-praised-spearing-record-170937521.html
A Florida diver set two records recently by spearing and
removing a large lionfish from the Gulf of Mexico.
The lionfish measured 18.7 inches and weighed 3.77 pounds,
making it the longest and heaviest of its species speared in
Florida’s Gulf waters.
Whitfield, while diving June 10 off Okaloosa County, was
participating in a state-sponsored program that encourages the
removal of invasive lionfish by any legal means of fishing.
...
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Commission, two species of lionfish native to the Indo-Pacific
have “invaded” Florida waters and may pose a significant threat
to native wildlife and habitat.
Remember: this is how our enemies view us also. But when they
themselves actually invade, they call it "discovery".
The state now offers prize incentives and sponsors
tournaments specific to lionfish. The annual Lionfish Challenge
is an integral link in the population control effort.
In 2019, 25,000 lionfish were removed during the Challenge. In
2020, 21,569 lionfish were harvested and David Connerth was
proclaimed Lionfish King after he removed 1,141 lionfish via
recreational fishing methods.
Isidoro Bedoya was named Commercial Champion after removing
1,196.5 pounds of lionfish.
The state also recognizes weight and length records in
spearfishing and hook-and-line categories for Atlantic and Gulf
waters.
Whitfield’s speared lionfish, at 3.77 pounds, is the heaviest
overall. The angling weight record stands at 2.3 pounds, set by
Darren Parker in the Gulf in 2016.
Sustainability and record-breaking at the same time! So Western!
