Apparently, Afghanistan really is where "empires go to die". I
remember people bringing up that quote when the U.S. first
declared it was going to invade Afghanistan....
Afghanistan Withdrawal Leads To DEATH And PANIC

deaths and mass panic because of poor planning by the military.

with the Americans. These allies have just been abandoned and
left to die. I think that sends a clear message for anyone in
the future who might want to ally with the Americans. They
don't have your back.

we leave they just lay down their weapons that we trained them

Because their heart's were never in it in the first place?
I still remember what my mother told me shortly after 9/11,
"Westerners and the U.S. do not understand the Arab-World or
Islam.". That was shortly after she had told me in regards to
9/11: "There's no way Muslims did that, I cannot believe it!".

Pentagon: U.S. Has Received 'No Hostile Attacks, Threats' From
Taliban
--- Quote ---
> The Defense Department says U.S. military commanders at the
Kabul airport are in touch with Taliban leaders as they
coordinate the evacuation effort of U.S. citizens and Afghan
allies.
>
> Pentagon spokesman John Kirby told reporters at a briefing on
Tuesday that necessary interactions with Taliban leaders will
continue as the U.S. evacuates people. He said there have been
no new hostile encounters with Taliban fighters at the airport.
>
> Asked whether U.S. commanders had an agreement with the
Taliban for safe passage to the airport of Afghan allies and
others awaiting evacuation, Kirby said "There are interactions
at the airport, by our commanders, with the Taliban leaders"
outside the airport.
>
> Officials hope the pace of evacuations will pick up so that as
many as 9,000 people could be taken out of the country each day.
>
> After their sweep into Kabul on Sunday and the takeover of the
country, Taliban fighters are guarding Kabul airport's entry
points and gates.

Why 20 Years of American Aid Couldn’t Fix Afghanistan’s Roads
and Hospitals
--- Quote ---
> America’s 20 year war in Afghanistan wasn’t just a military
failure. It was also a failure of a billion-dollar program to
stabilize the country by rebuilding its roads, schools and
government institutions.

Taliban calls for unity in Afghanistan
--- Quote ---
> The Taliban has issued guidance to imams around Afghanistan,
claiming they should use weekly sermons and prayers to appeal
for unity.
> It is reported several mosques are seeing higher numbers of
attendees than normal.
> Across the country, Afghans went to prayers on the first
Friday since the takeover, with the Taliban watching on, armed
and a menacing presence - at odds with their message of freedom
and unity.
> There are reports of fighters going door-to-door, looking for
those who have opposed them or worked with international forces.
> The national flag is still being displayed in Kabul as a
protest against Taliban rule.
> While markets have reopened in the city, life is not yet back
to normal - but there is a growing acceptance, however
grudgingly, of what the future will be.
> The Taliban want to be recognised as legitimate rulers but
reports of violence and retribution suggests they have not
changed.

Your country America did not do this to you. A bunch of rightist
politicians in the U.S. and Israel did! They all have names and
they all have addresses! I can give you a complete list of all
of them if you wish?

Veterans' crisis calls on the rise amid news from Afghanistan

> Many U.S. military veterans are troubled by the news out of
Afghanistan as the Taliban takes control, and mental health
crisis lines have seen an uptick in calls. Lisa Kearney, the
director of the Veterans Crisis Line, and Sonya Norman, the
director of the PTSD Consultation Program at the National Center
for PTSD, joined CBSN to discuss the resources are available for

Pentagon CONFIRMS Americans harassed, beaten in Kabul
--- Quote ---
> In a press conference Saturday, Pentagon spokesperson John
Kirby confirmed that there have been reports of some Americans
and Afghanis being harassed and physically harmed by the
Taliban. Kirby added that it is his belief that these are
isolated incidents, where the Taliban in question didn't get the
order in time or have not listened to the orders of the higher
command.
