I don’t think that Anne Frank herself can be blamed for Israel,
but I think that her story has been used to justify both the
creation of Israel, and the violence that Israel has committed,
for nearing a century now. If I wanted to reinterpret the act of
painting the statue’s hands red in a socially acceptable way
that still reflects true leftism, then that’s how I would
interpret it. But either way, that’s not gonna stop people from
interpreting the act in the less charitable way, especially when
the less charitable reasoning is just as likely. Either way, I
feel like doing that to the statue was kind of just “bad optics”
(as rightists would say), and doesn’t really further our cause
in any positive way. I’d rather not give our enemies potential
ammunition against us. Or our allies, for that matter. A lot of
good people will find it distasteful as well

Also, now that I think about it, I wouldn’t even be surprised if
the person who did it, wasn’t even pro-Palestine. Obviously it’s
very possible for someone on the pro-Palestine side to have done
it, but I also wouldn’t necessarily be surprised if a pro-Israel
person did it to make the pro-Palestine side look progressively
worse by association. Most of these instances involving a
pro-Palestine protestors supposedly defacing or damaging
something, mention unnamed perpetrators who weren’t seen during
the crime and obviously weren’t apprehended, so you can’t really
take a lot of this stuff at face value

If you believe she did not write her diary herself, and that the
real Anne Frank hated Jewishness, you can hold such a position.
On the other hand, if we assume she did write her diary herself
(as Jews themselves insist that she did), then whether or not
she can be blamed depends on what she wrote in her diary from
which we can infer her views about Jewishness.

The above quote suggests that she wants there to be Jews left
and that Jews not be doomed. Therefore she can indeed be blamed

I would go further and point out that calling Chinese New Year
"Chinese New Year" (and similarly with other non-Western
versions) while calling Jan 1 "New Year" is still Eurocentric,
as it implies that Jan 1 is the standard version. Rigorous
non-Eurocentrists should call Jan 1 "Gregorian New Year". ;D
On a different note, the term "Spring Festival" is a modern name
(which I therefore also discourage):
