If future historians are competent, they will portray Silicon
Valley as a betrayal of the Counterculture, as Silicon Valley is
really nothing but the next phase of the Industrial Revolution,
whereas the Counterculture was explicitly anti-industrialist.
Just because Silicon Valley's pioneers happened to experience
the Counterculture as students does not imply they had any
genuine loyalty to it. I would say their loyalty was to
progressivism all along, and to the extent that they paid lip
service to Counterculture ideas, it was only because they at the
time associated jettisoning social traditions with an increase
in innovativeness, thus valuing the latter above all perceived
the former as useful. Nowadays, as Silicon Valley types observe
a decline in innovativeness, they are just as open to returning
to social traditions hoping it can revive innovativeness.
I never considered Silicon Valley cool. I cannot think of one
good Counterculture-era video game that was developed in Silicon
Valley. Can you?

I've never been a fan of games developed by Western companies in
general (particularly in the 2000s), so no.
Also, there is a correlation between reproductive Eurocentric
"Asian" women in STEM/Silicon Valley and their tendency to
support progressivism (while masking it as "leftism"/"wokeism").
Even the ones who claim to hate silicon valley also only hate it
because it is capitalist.

On the other hand, the original tweeter probably likes the
multiethnic nature of the Indian state because it is better for
machinism/progressivism, which would offer a wider pool of
candidates to build his technocracy than a monoethnic state
would. Recall that many of the old industrialists were of non
Indian ethnic origin, e.g. Tata (Parsi), although I wouldn't
classify them as machinists as such.

No, he is not.
The reason why people of Chinese or Indian ancestry can
convincingly call themselves British (if they choose to) but
"whites" cannot convincingly call themselves Chinese/Indian is
because China/India was colonized by Britain, whereas not only
was no "white" population ever colonized by China/India, but
"whites" were the colonizers of China/India!
(Of course, individuals with "white" parents can convincingly
call themselves Chinese/Indian (if they choose to) on the
condition that they voluntarily refrain from reproducing.)
