How Fracking Became America's Money Pit
       --- Quote ---
       > For most any nation, let alone a superpower, energy
independence is considered the geopolitical holy grail. So when
fracking lured in American investors, everyone had high hopes
the country would finally break free of OPEC. But oil is a
complex game, and 2020 saw sharp declines in demand caused by
the cartel’s maneuvering, shale oil’s oversupply, and now the
devastating effects of the coronavirus. What’s worse, the
startup mentality of the U.S. fracking industry promised
investors mythical growth and nonexistent returns. In the end,
it burned a $340 billion hole in Wall Street’s pocket.

Wow! I never realized there were already this many books on the
subject: (Disclaimer: of all the things I post on these forums I
am weary most of the following types of posts because I do not
wish to see Americans demoralized more than they already are,
but accuracy is more important at the end of the day I believe).

The pandemic exposes the severity of America's problems
       --- Quote ---
       > Ten million people are out of work, 15 million Americans are
behind in their rental payments, 24 million adults and 12
million children literally don't have enough food to eat. This
is the dark picture U.S. President Joe Biden painted when he
called on Congress to go big on a $1.9 trillion rescue plan to
deal with a faltering economy. As CGTN's anchor Guan Xin
observes, the pandemic has exposed the severity of America’s
problems which were underlying even before the pandemic.

       > It is a fact that the U.S. is enjoying massive unfair
advantage over the rest of the world. This is largely made
possible because the world at large (and China) still honour the
dollar as the principal reserve currency. The certitude of
dollar as the reserve currency enables the U.S. to print money,
via the issuance of debts to finance its huge deficit spending,
its insatiable appetite for consumption, and to augment the
exploit and hegemony of capital. Effectively, to the U.S., the
cost of capital and labour of other producing countries is no
more than the cost of printing of the greenbacks.

Turns out that just being wealthy is NOT good enough when it
comes to nation-states and civilization. Western capitalists
have always lived under the false assumption that you can just
throw money at a problem and it will go away. We are now
witnessing what happens to a nation and it's people when all it
cares about is profit and money above all else.

Blaming China For US Poverty And The Broken American Dream
       --- Quote ---
       > In 2001, China joined the World Trade Organisation, with
America's support. The US' belief was that free trade with China
could create more opportunities for Americans.
       >
       > However in the past 20 years, almost 5 million manufacturing
jobs in America have been lost, as factories moved overseas,
creating Rust Belt de-industrialisation, a surge in poverty
       levels and anti-China sentiment.

“The City of 1,000 Factories” and the Silicon Valley of its age.
From 2001 to 2007, the city lost almost 23,000 jobs, as
factories such as General Motors shut down. Ironically in 2015,
Chinese glass-maker Fuyao set up a factory in Dayton employing
2,300 workers - the subject of the Academy Award-winning
       documentary American Factory.

the petty criminal that's had to resort to crime because they
don't understand a better way, but the real crooks. The crooks
that were born into privilege, whether "white" or Jewish, and
still go out of their way to feed on the poor and destroy
innocent lives without a care in the world, all for profit!

Beto: ‘We Are Nearing A Failed State In Texas’ Thanks To GOP
