such as Henry Kissinger love to promote, nations should be
self-reliant.
Furthermore, if your definition of "standard of living" includes
not being poisoned by Western civilization yourself, 'standard
of living' increases under Autarky rather than decreases. It all
depends on whether you use the Western model to define "standard
of living", or not!
