       I would like to clarify that a free market and capitalism are
       two separate things. In particular, it is possible to have a
       free market without capitalism, and it is also possible to have
       capitalism without a free market.
       Free-market capitalism involves A and B each produce a product
       of their choice to sell, and consumers buying whichever they
       prefer. If A's product sells better than B's product, A becomes
       richer than B.
       Free-market non-capitalism would involve A and B each producing
       a product of their choice to sell, and consumers buying
       whichever they prefer. If A's product sells better than B's
       product, A makes a bigger profit than B. The state then taxes A
       more heavily than B, so that A does not become richer than B.
       Non-free-market capitalism would involve A and B each producing
       whatever product the state tells them to produce, and consumers
       buying whichever they prefer. If A's product sells better than
       B's product, A becomes richer than B.
       Homework: describe non-free-market non-capitalism.
       The point is that we can criticize free markets (e.g. what if
       some products require initiating violence to produce?), and we
       can criticize capitalism (e.g. what if an unpopular product is
       actually qualitatively superior?) but we should never criticize
       both together as if they were a single thing.
