I've no idea what I'm doing, therefore let's just annex

Trever-Rope and historian Overy, and a load of others. And
again, this shows that Hoggan and Taylor's argument that Hitler
didn't have a timetable doesn't disprove that the Memorandum is
an accurate document. Still, this doesn't, stop Hoggan
concluding - "Hence, error had been added to error. It was false
to assume that the document was authentic in the first place,
and it was incorrect to assume that even the fraudulent document
contained any damaging evidence against Hitler and the other
German leaders. Unfortunately, most of the later historians in
Germany and elsewhere have blindly followed the Nuremberg.
judgment and have arrived at the mistaken conclusion that
Hitler's conference of November 5, 1937, was relevant to the
effort of determining the responsibility for World War II." No,
the error here is Taylor's and Hoggan's, as well as the others,
for unjustifiably dismissing and 'innocent' Hitler and the Nazis
were preyed upon by the international community - which, for the
Nazis, is apparently the Jews. The Hossbach Memorandum is an
important document among many, that proves that Hitler had
stated his intention to wage wars of aggression prior to him
actually doing so. The propagandistic narrative that Hitler was
an 'innocent bystander' or that Germany was the 'victim' in this
conflict simply cannot be justified. And yes, despite the weight
of the evidence, and the fact that their false narratives don't
stand up to scrutiny, I'm sure some will continue to spout such
ignorance. I just hope that I've gotten through to a few of them

summoned the SA leaders and Reichswehr generals to the war

Liebmann, noted that day:
>
> Hitler said this: 'When I took over the government in January
1933, 1 felt I was marching forward along a broad, well-paved
road. Then however that road got narrower, and the surface
worse. It turned into a narrow footpath — and today I have a
feeling that I am inching my way forward, along a tightrope,
while every day fresh burdens are thrust on me, now on the
right, now on the left.'

could satisfy his main need; according to another general,
Maximilian von Weichs, who took shorthand notes of the speech,
Hitler added: 'The new army must be capable of all manner of

eight.' Since the western powers would probably not permit
Germany to win Lebensraum, short sharp wars might be necessary
in the west, 'and after them, wars in the east.'

yogurt were for a long time the basic elements in his diet. In
later years he could no longer stand coffee, and only limited
amounts of milk. All his food was specially prepared; even his
soups were not the same as those served to the other guests. In
his last years he had a special Viennese dietetic cook who even
at military headquarters would prepare the Führer's meals in a
special small kitchen. Incidentally, in 1932 when Hitler was
living at the Hotel Kaiserhof in Berlin and suspected a plot to
poison him, Frau Goebbels used frequently to prepare his meals
at her home and spirit them up to his hotel room.

Hitler's chief aide Julius Schaub said are not correct. What is
conclusive and true is that when the operation was still very

my wife: ‘So, Anna, what might you be cooking today? Just make
sure that it’s not meat, you know, ever since suffering from gas
poisoning during the First World War I cannot even smell meat.
That is abhorrent to me, my mucous membranes are all in a mess,

poisoning that caused Hitler to give up meat. My wife and also

Hitler's Economic Policy were for all-out war against Western
Civilization
--- Quote ---
> 8 February [1933], the Chancellor [Hitler] demanded that all
measures concerned with creating employment should be taken in
close conjunction with the idea of 'rearming' the nation, i.e.
with rearmament itself. Hitler held firmly to this principle
throughout the following years and did in fact regard the
economy purely as an instrument for creating the conditions
necessary for his expansionist policy. In Schacht, the President
of the Reichsbank, Hitler found an expert who by means of the
Mefo Bills created the financial basis for the services' first
rearmaments programmes and who also with his 'New Plan' brought
the corpus of economic policy into line with overall political
strategy.
>

>
> During the remaining days of December a great number of
individual instructions were sent out in order to ensure that
the implementation of the three-fold increase in the size of the
Army could begin on 1 April 1934
>

> "Schacht's financial policies and the reorientation of foreign
trade to a great extent served the interests of rearmament. But
the economic risks involved in an armaments economy very soon
become visible. The shortage of foreign exchange, which had
already assumed serious proportions by the end of 1934 and which
was in the main caused by the import of raw materials vital to
armament, became a feature of the National Socialist armaments
economy. Attempts to end the crisis by economic measures in the
form of the promotion of exports by the State failed because the
economy was confronted not by a reduction but by a further
increase in the armed services' armaments orders."

Hitler's Foreign Policy were for all-out war against Western
Civilization
--- Quote ---
> On 22 August [1939], Hitler called the leaders of the three
branches of the Wehrmacht to the Obersalzberg to run through the
reasons for the imminent war [against Poland] one more time
[...] Germany’s highest military leaders [...] would have been
surprised at the emphasis HITLER PUT ON THE ECONOMIC NECESSITY
TO GO TO WAR NOW. ‘We have nothing to lose and everything to
gain,’ he proclaimed. ‘Because of the restrictions our economic
situation imposes on us we can only hold out for a few years …
We have no choice. We must act.’ WITH THAT, THE DICTATOR
ADMITTED THAT ITS GIGANTIC MILITARY EXPENDITURES HAD INDEED
BROUGHT GERMANY TO THE VERGE OF ECONOMIC COLLAPSE, just as the
former president of the Reichsbank Hjalmar Schacht, who had been
fired in January, had predicted. It was already clear from
Hitler’s words that the planned war would transfer the costs of
this financial crisis to the peoples that Germany was going to
subjugate.»

> At a meeting in his study in the New Reich Chancellery on 23
May, Hitler outlined his thinking on Poland and on wider
strategic issues to a small group of top military leaders. The
main points of his speech were noted down by his Wehrmacht
Adjutant Lieutenant-Colonel Rudolf Schmundt. It was a frank
address, even if some points (according to the noted record)
were left ambiguous. It held out the prospect not only of an
attack on Poland, but also made clear that the more far-reaching
aim was to prepare for an inevitable showdown with Britain.
Unlike the meeting on § November 1937 that Hoßbach had recorded,
there is no indication that the military commanders were caused
serious disquiet by what they heard. As on that occasion, the
meeting had been called to deal with questions of raw materials
allocation, arising from the priority that had been given in
January to the naval Z-Plan.* As then, Hitler did not deal with
such specifics, but launched into a broad assessment of
strategy, this time regarding Poland and the West. Other
countries, including the Soviet Union, were scarcely touched
upon.
>
> Significantly - and an indication that reports of the mounting
difficulties had not passed him by - Hitler began by emphasizing
the need to solve Germany's economic problems. His answer was
the one he had been rehearsing for over fifteen years, though it
was now more plainly stated than it had been in his first speech
to military leaders on being appointed Chancellor, over six
years earlier. 'This is not possible without "breaking in" to
other countries or attacking other people's possessions,' he
baldly stated. In characteristic vein he continued: 'Living
space proportionate to the greatness of the State is fundamental
to every Power. One can do without it for a time, but sooner or
later the problems will have to be solved by hook or by crook.
The alternatives are rise or decline. In fifteen or twenty
years' time the solution will be forced upon us. No German
statesman can shirk the problem for longer.'

Hitler's Plan to Prepare Massive Rearmament to War with Britain
and the United States, Bastion of Western Civilization
--- Quote ---
> The Reichsbank officials, however, were engaged in wishful
thinking if they believed that the peaceful achievement of
Grossdeutschland was Hitler's final aim. As Schacht had himself
predicted. Hitler could barely contain his frustration at the
outcome of the Munich conference. 5 He had the Sudetenland. But
that was not the point. The rump of Czechoslovakia remained to
be liquidated and the Western powers had now shown their true
colours. As Hitler and his military leadership had been forced
to realize, Germany would have to fight in the West before it
could pursue any large-scale campaign of military conquest in
the East. It was only after the Czech crisis, therefore, that
the full military-industrial implications of the anti-Western
turn in German strategy became apparent. In his diary in late
September, Major-General Thomas of the military economic office
of the Oberkommando Wehrmacht (OKW) noted: 'The day of Munich.
By telephone I receive instructions: all preparations now for
war against England, target 1942 !' 6 Two weeks later, on 14
October 1938, Goering announced the new programme in a major
address in the conference hall of the Air Ministry. Given the
'world situation', the 'Fuehrer has issued an order ... to carry
out a gigantic programme compared to which previous achievements
are insignificant’. 7 Within the shortest time the Luftwaffe was
to be increased fivefold. The navy was to accelerate its
armaments effort and the army was to procure large amounts of
offensive weapons, particularly heavy artillery pieces and heavy
tanks. In addition, fuel, rubber, gunpowder and explosives were
to be 'moved into the foreground'. On top of all this, Goering
also called for accelerated investment in railways, highways and
canals to make up for the obvious deficiencies in Germany's
transport infrastructure.
>
> Over the following weeks, all three branches of the Wehrmacht
responded to the new challenge. For the army, the first priority
was simply to complete the enormous build-up begun in 1936. On
20 October 1938 it announced that it would need to claim no less
than 4.5 million tons of steel in 1939, almost a quarter of
Germany's total production, a figure not reached until the
height of the Stalingrad battle in 1942. 8 The fivefold
expansion of the Luftwaffe, announced by Goering on 14 October,
was even more dramatic in its implications. 9 Within four years
the Luftwaffe was to reach a peacetime strength of 21,750
aircraft. This was the logical extension of the decision taken
five months earlier to base Germany's airfleet around a force of
as many as 7,000 Ju 88 medium bombers. These were now to be
flanked by over 800 heavy four-engined bombers (He 177) and
swarms of long-range fighter escorts and Messerschmitt
interceptors. 19 The navy, for its part, launched a new
fleet-building programme, designed to put Germany in a position
to compete with the Royal Navy within six years. 11 In December
1939, Hitler and Admiral Raeder agreed on a programme that gave
first priority to the construction of 6 giant battleships,
followed by a fleet of 249 U-boats and 8 cruisers for long-range
operations. By 1948 the German navy was to include 797 vessels,
at a total cost of 33 billion Reichsmarks over nine years. As in
the case of the Luftwaffe's programme, the infrastructural costs
of this giant fleet were enormous. Cavernous new dry docks were
required at Wilhelmshaven and Hamburg. The island of Ruegen was
to be hollowed out to provide shelter for a gigantic naval base.
The navy's Z Plan, the last of the major pre-war armaments
programmes, was signed into force on 27 January 1939, giving the
Reichsmarine absolute priority over all other industrial
projects of the Third Reich.
