U.S. Surge Sees 50,000 New Daily Covid-19 Cases

       > Two dozen states are now seeing an increase of more than 1,000
Covid-19 cases in the last two days, with a second wave
threatening the Northeast. In Arizona, local masks mandates cut

Just found a new TV Series on true stories that happened during
the combat against Covid19 in Wuhan, China. Each theme is
covered by 2 episodes, and the above links are Episodes 3 and 4
about one ordinary man who continued to offer his service and
help to those in need amid the lockdown of Wuhan at the early
stage of the virus in Jan. 2020, providing much insight into the
       desperate situation at the time.
All the more disgusted after watching this to see Trump openly
use the term China Virus once again and claiming China is
responsible for the pandemic. What a despicable moron!

The Covid-19 pandemic has claimed far more lives than reported,
       study says
       --- Quote ---
       > On top of that, the U.S. has fared much worse than most
high-income countries, a separate study found.

       --- Quote ---
       > Far more Americans have died as a result of the Covid-19
pandemic than have been counted and reported, according to new
research published Monday in the Journal of the American Medical
       Association.
       >
       > "For every two Americans that we know of who are dying of
Covid-19, another American is dying," said Dr. Steven Woolf,
author of the new research and director emeritus of the Center
on Society and Health at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Trump referred to Haiti and African nations as 'shithole'

       Comparison:
As U.S. struggles, Africa’s COVID-19 response is praised
       --- Quote ---
       > JOHANNESBURG (AP) — At a lecture to peers this month, John
Nkengasong showed images that once dogged Africa, with a
magazine cover declaring it “The Hopeless Continent.” Then he
quoted Ghana’s first president, Kwame Nkrumah: “It is clear that
we must find an African solution to our problems, and that this
can only be found in African unity.”
       --- End Quote ---
       --- Quote ---
       > The coronavirus pandemic has fractured global relationships.
But as director of the Africa Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, Nkengasong has helped to steer Africa’s 54 countries
into an alliance praised as responding better than some richer
       countries, including the United States.

Apparently, the reminder and comparison as stated above are way
too difficult for many U.S. citizens to make, judging from their
social media posts. But then again, this is ALL just "fake news"
anyway, so why bother? Trying to figure out the "lies" your
opponents are spreading isn't very important to them either of
       course....
By labeling things "fake" they have a perfect excuse for
continuing to be as intellectually lazy as they have always
been. Such a wonderful world this westerners have created....
Who do the real ****-hole countries belong to though?

Fauci: Trump’s rapid recovery from Covid-19, while welcome,
       ‘amplifies’ public misunderstanding of disease
       --- Quote ---
       > Health officials have struggled to convey the seriousness of
Covid-19 to many Americans. President Trump’s rapid recovery
from the disease, while welcome by all, makes the challenge even
more difficult, Anthony Fauci, director of the National
Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases acknowledged.
       >
       > Trump’s quick bounce-back from his infection will likely
underscore the mistaken belief some people have that the disease
does not present significant health risks, Fauci said in an
       interview with STAT.
       >
       > “We’re all glad that the president of the United States did
not suffer any significant consequences of it,” Fauci said. “But
… because he is such a visible figure, it amplifies some of that
misunderstanding that people have that it’s a benign disease and
nobody has anything to worry about.”
       >
       > The wide range of clinical manifestations of the disease —
some people experience no symptoms, while others have everything
from flu-like symptoms to life-threatening and even fatal
pneumonia and blood clots — makes conveying the dangerousness of
       Covid-19 incredibly challenging, he said.
       --- End Quote ---
       --- Quote ---
       > “It’s just a lot of understandable mixed signals, that it’s
either serious or it’s not serious. It’s deadly or it’s not
deadly. To me, that’s been the bane of trying to get a message
       across to people,” he said.
       >
       > “It’s a problem that goes well beyond the president’s
       illness.”
       >
       > Trump, who was considered at high risk of having severe
Covid-19 because of his age, weight, and sex, was hospitalized
for four days earlier this month after testing positive for the
SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes Covid-19. First lady Melania
Trump also tested positive for the virus; White House doctors
described her case as milder than the president’s. She did not
       need to be hospitalized.
       >
       > The president required supplemental oxygen on at least two
occasions before he was taken by helicopter to Walter Reed
National Military Medical Center on Oct. 2. In the four days he
was there, Trump was treated with an experimental antibody
cocktail, the antiviral drug remdesivir, and the steroid
       dexamethasone.

Justin Trudeau: Canada-US border will stay closed until America
       gets COVID-19 under control
       --- Quote ---
       > "The U.S. is not in a place where we would feel comfortable
reopening those borders," he told the hosts of "Smart Start,"
which airs on Canada's Global Television Network. “We will
continue to make sure that Canadian safety is top of mind when
we move forward. We see the cases in the United States and
elsewhere around the world, and we need to continue to keep
       these border controls in place."

In other words: "Get your shit together or you're not welcome!"
I suspect many countries will continue to take this position,
       especially if Trump wins re-election.

People with blood type O may have lower risk of Covid-19
infection and severe illness, two new studies suggest
       --- Quote ---
       > People with blood type O may be less vulnerable to Covid-19
and have a reduced likelihood of getting severely ill, according
to two studies published Wednesday. Experts say more research is
       needed.
       > The research provides further evidence that blood type (also
known as blood group) may play a role in a person's
susceptibility to infection and their chance of having a severe
bout of the disease. The reasons for this link aren't clear and
more research is needed to say what implications, if any, it has
       for patients.
