President Joe Biden’s American Sign Language (ASL)
interpreter reportedly manages a pro-Trump Facebook group that
provides sign language accompaniments to right-wing videos.
ASL interpreter Heather Mewshaw was introduced by press
secretary Jen Psaki as “today’s interpreter, Heather” on Monday,
as the administration announced it would be adding a sign
language interpreter to its daily press briefings.
...
One video Ms Mewshaw features in is titled: “WHAT REALLY
HAPPENED On January 6th?” while another is called: “Joe Biden is
literally and legally not the President elect.”
In a video on 20 January titled “Thank You President Trump From
the Right Side ASL Team!” which was posted just five days before
she was introduced as an ASL interpreter for the Biden
administration, Ms Mewshaw wore a MAGA hat and signed to Mr
Trump dancing to “YMCA”, according to Time.
Prosecutors and judges believe it is OK to be "white":
HTML https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/16/nyregion/amy-cooper-charges-dismissed.html
The criminal case against Amy Cooper, a white woman who
called the police on a Black bird-watcher in Central Park and
falsely reported that he had threatened her, was dismissed on
Tuesday after Ms. Cooper completed a therapeutic program that
included instruction about racial biases.
At a hearing in Manhattan Criminal Court, a senior prosecutor
asked a judge to dismiss the single misdemeanor charge against
Ms. Cooper — falsely reporting an incident — and the judge
agreed. Ms. Cooper had faced up to a year in jail if convicted.
The resolution of the case without a trial or a guilty plea was
for some an anticlimactic ending to an incident that had
provoked intense discussions across the country about how Black
people are harmed by false reports to the police.
The prosecutor, Joan Illuzzi-Orbon, said Ms. Cooper had
participated in five therapy sessions that focused in part on
how racial identities shape people’s lives. Her therapist had
reported that the sessions were “a moving experience” and that
Ms. Cooper “learned a lot,” Ms. Illuzzi-Orbon said.
...
Ms. Cooper’s lawyer, Robert Barnes, thanked the Manhattan
district attorney’s office on Twitter for what he called “a
thorough & honest inquiry.”
Remember all their names. One day they will all have to answer
for their complicity.
Eliza Orlins, a candidate for Manhattan district
attorney, said in a tweet that the dismissal “isn’t surprising.”
“This is how the system was designed to function — to protect
the privileged from accountability,” she said.
What is the name of this system? Answer: Western civilization.
Also let's not forget that the victim also believes it is OK to
be "white":
In July, the Manhattan district attorney, Cyrus R. Vance
Jr., decided to charge Ms. Cooper with filing a false report,
one of the first charges a white person in the United States had
faced for filing a false report involving a Black person.
“We will hold people who make false and racist 911 calls
accountable,” Mr. Vance said later.
But prosecutors faced a problem: Mr. Cooper declined to
participate in the investigation, saying Ms. Cooper had already
paid a “steep price.”
He too is our enemy now, as he has proven that he cares less
about protecting future victims than about protecting the
criminal.

HTML https://www.yahoo.com/news/system-broken-black-community-expresses-165619757.html
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – After news that a grand jury announced
no criminal charges would be brought against the Rochester
officers whose restraint of Daniel Prude may have caused his
death, members of the city's Black community expressed grief,
anger and fatigue, along with a determination to set a new path
forward.
...
Protesters expressed frustration with the Rochester Police
Department and the grand jury's decision not to charge any
officers in Prude's death, which comes on the heels of similar
findings in the high-profile cases of Jacob Blake and Breonna
Taylor. The Kenosha, Wisconsin, officer who shot Blake was not
charged. One Louisville, Kentucky, officer was indicted on
counts of wantonly endangering Taylor's neighbors, but no
officers were charged with killing Taylor herself.
...
"If we cannot get justice for Daniel Prude then Black
communities are not safe," Brown said. "The grand jury decided
it was more important to protect white officers who work from a
slave patrol blueprint of 1819 in this city than to offer public
safety to its Black citizens.
"We’ve never had public safety for the whole of the Black and
brown community," she said. "We need to stop telling ourselves
that that’s what we have.”
If we cannot get justice through the system, we can still get it
through application of the Second Amendment.

Kentucky: Insulting Cops Is Now Illegal
A former police officer in Kentucky is sponsoring a bill
that would make it illegal to "accost, insult, taunt, or... [use
of] offensive or derisive words" towards a police officer during
a protest. David Shuster, Jayar Jackson, and Cenk Uygur discuss
on The Young Turks.

"A bill moving through Kentucky's Senate would make it a
crime to insult or taunt a police officer during a riot.
Supporters say the bill targets people who unlawfully "cross the
line" but opponents call it a blatant attempt to crush protests
and a violation of First Amendment rights."
