This BBC interviewer is absolutely disgusting as she tried to
make the London based Palestinian official condemn Hamas and NOT
Israel, even though he has just lost nearly an entire family of
relatives (including young children) in this latest Gaza
conflict.

''Far Worse Than 9/11'': Retired US General Condemns Hamas
Attack On Israel
Retired US General David Petraeus, who commanded America's wars
in both Iraq and Afghanistan, condemned Hamas' attack on Israel,
calling it ''far worse than 9/11.''
Mr Petraeus, who also once served as director of the CIA, warned
Israel to think carefully about its upcoming actions as it plans
to invade Gaza.
''This is going to be a very, very tough fight. I almost can't
imagine a more challenging contextual set of circumstances here
than what they face. There are tunnels; there will be rooms that
will have improvised explosive devices. You have to clear every
building, every floor, every room, every basement, every tunnel.
Civilian losses are inevitable, and tough Israeli losses lie
ahead as well,'' he added.
He further expressed shock at how both Israeli and American
intelligence were not aware of what was being planned.
''This is our 9/11. We are committed to changing the equation,
to shatter the old paradigm. These animals will pay a heavy
price and they will learn that these atrocities cannot be
committed again against our civilians,'' he added.

Mainstream media proselytizing bias:
Figures on Palestinian casualties are Hamas propaganda

Whenever you see a figure for Palestinian casualties in Gaza
quoting any kind of officials or authorities, remember: that is
Hamas talking. And based on Tuesday’s hospital explosion,
casualties will have been exaggerated many times over
It's funny how the same mainstream media frequently claims that
Ukrainian casualty numbers from Ukrainian sources are likely to
be undercounts, and Russian casualty numbers from Russian
sources are also likely to be undercounts, but Palestinian
sources about Palestinian casualties are likely to be
overcounts. ::)
In a fiery interview that aired Tuesday, Queen Rania of
Jordan sat down with veteran journalist Christiane Amanpour and
lambasted what she described as the “glaring double standard” in
Western mainstream media coverage of the Israel-Gaza war.
...
The Western media and policymakers are quick to adopt the
Israeli narratives. When Israel attacks, Palestinians ‘die,’ but
when Israelis die, they are ‘killed,’ murdered in cold blood.”
...
“When the President of the United States is told that he has
evidence he has seen evidence of children beheaded, only to
retract it because the IDF said that there's no proof of that.
That is confirmation bias. Even at your network Christiane, the
CNN website, at the beginning of the conflict reported a
headline about Israeli children found butchered in an Israeli
kibbutz. And when you read through the story, that’s not hasn’t
been independently verified. Now, my question to you is would
you publish such a damning yet unverified claim made by a
Palestinia—”
Amanpour then interjected, “Queen Rania, I just need to stop you
right there because there have been pictures shown by the
Israelis and our journalists have been down there. I’m not
talking about beheadings, I’m talking about babies bodies
riddled with bullets,” before changing the subject.
Bullets from whose guns? Amanpour demonstrates her bias in
real-time!

Ironically, Pahlavi was probably further to the right than
Wallace was:
HTML https://trueleft.createaforum.com/issues/psychological-decolonization/msg16127/#msg16127
The Pahlavis were not hostile either to Israel or to Jews in
Iran, quite the contrary:
HTML https://trueleft.createaforum.com/ancient-world/pre-islamic-vs-islamic-persia/msg16615/#msg16615
After the establishment of the State of Israel in May
1948, Israel and Iran maintained close ties. Iran was the second
Muslim-majority country to recognize Israel[9] as a sovereign
state after Turkey.[10][11] Israel viewed Iran as a natural ally
as a non-Arab power on the edge of the Arab world, in accordance
with David Ben Gurion's concept of an alliance of the periphery.
Israel had a permanent delegation in Tehran which served as a de
facto embassy, before Ambassadors were exchanged in the late
1970s.[12][13]
After the Six-Day War, Iran supplied Israel with a significant
portion of its oil needs and Iranian oil was shipped to European
markets via the joint Israeli-Iranian Eilat-Ashkelon
pipeline.[14][15] Trade between the countries was brisk,[16]
with Israeli construction firms and engineers active in Iran. El
Al, the Israeli national airline, operated direct flights
between Tel Aviv and Tehran.[17] Iranian-Israeli military links
and projects were kept secret, but they are believed to have
been wide-ranging,[18] for example the joint military project
Project Flower (1977–79), an Iranian-Israeli attempt to develop
a new missile.[19][20]
...
Project "Flower" Tzur (see also Project Flower), a joint
collaboration between Iran and Israel, aimed to develop a
"state-of-the-art sea-to-sea missile, an advanced version of the
U.S. Harpoon missile, with a range of 200 kilometers."[143]
Israeli Defense Minister General Ezer Weizmann and Iranian Vice
Minister of War General Hassan Toufanian discussed the
co-production of Israel's Jericho-2 missile, code named Project
Flower.[144]

The Pahlavi dynasty implemented modernizing reforms,
which greatly improved the life of Jews. The influence of the
Shi'a clergy was weakened, and the restrictions on Jews and
other religious minorities were abolished.[62] Reza Shah
prohibited mass conversion of Jews and eliminated the Shi'ite
concept of ritual uncleanness of non-Muslims.[citation needed]
Modern Hebrew was incorporated into the curriculum of Jewish
schools and Jewish newspapers were published. Jews were also
allowed to hold government jobs.[6] In 1915 two Jewish brothers,
Mordechai and Asher ben Avaraham, opened the first Jewish
newspaper called "Shalom". These changes moved the balance of
power in the Jewish community from elders and Rabbis to the
youth. Establishment of Zionist Organization of Persia further
accelerated this transfer of power to the young Jews. The Jews
of Persia understood that "Zion" is the biblical name of
Jerusalem and Zionism demonstrates that end of exile and the
beginning of redemption. The Persian Zionist Aziz ben Yona Naim
wrote in the early 1920s :"Zionism is nothing but a new name and
new institution, for the Zionist idea has been present in Jewish
thought for over two thousands years."[63] In the wake of
Zionist activity, many Jews emigrated to Palestine. Many Persian
Jews were poorer than their European brethren but nevertheless
they enthusiastically bought Shekels, contributed to the
national funds, and sought to be represented at Zionist Congress
held in Europe.
In the above interview, Pahlavi never said that Jews should not
be allowed to control the media, but merely stated that they in
fact do.
In the context of the Malcolm X quote, Pahlavi loved the people
doing the oppressing even without the newspapers!
