I was going to post about this too.
--- Quote ---
> Luis Elizondo spent 20 years running military intelligence
operations worldwide: in Afghanistan, the Middle East and
Guantanamo. He hadn't given UFOs a second thought until 2008.
That's when he was asked to join something at the Pentagon
called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, or
"AATIP."
> [...]
> Buried away in the Pentagon, AATIP was part of a $22 million
program sponsored by then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to
investigate UFOs. When Elizondo took over in 2010 he focused on
the national security implications of unidentified aerial
phenomena documented by U.S. service members.
>
> Lue Elizondo: Imagine a technology that can do 6-to-700
g-forces, that can fly at 13,000 miles an hour, that can evade
radar and that can fly through air and water and possibly space.
And oh, by the way, has no obvious signs of propulsion, no
wings, no control surfaces and yet still can defy the natural
effects of Earth's gravity. That's precisely what we're seeing.
>
> Elizondo tells us AATIP was a loose-knit mix of scientists,
electro-optical engineers, avionics and intelligence experts,
often working part time. They combed through data and records,
and analyzed videos like this.
> [...]
> Inside the Pentagon his findings were met with skepticism.
AATIP's funding was eliminated in 2012, but Elizondo says he and
a handful of others kept the mission alive until finally,
frustrated, he quit the Pentagon in 2017, but not before getting
these three videos declassified and then things took a stranger
turn.
>
> Chris Mellon: I tried to help my colleague, Lue Elizondo,
elevate the issue in the department and actually get it to the
Secretary of Defense.
>
> Christopher Mellon served as deputy assistant secretary of
defense for intelligence for Presidents Clinton and George W.
Bush and had access to top secret government programs.
>
> Chris Mellon: So it's not us, that's one thing we know.
>
> Bill Whitaker: We know that?
>
> Chris Mellon: I can say that with a very high degree of
confidence in part because of the positions I held in the
department, and I know the process.
>
> Mellon says he grew concerned nothing was being done about
UAPs, so he decided to do something. In 2017, as a private
citizen, he surreptitiously acquired the three Navy videos
Elizondo had declassified and leaked them to the New York Times.
> [...]
> Chris Mellon: We knew and understood that you had to go to the
public, get the public interested to get Congress interested, to
then circle back to the Defense Department and get them to start
taking a look at it.
>
> And now it is. This past August the Pentagon resurrected
AATIP, it's now called the UAP task force; service members now
are encouraged to report strange encounters; and the Senate
wants answers.

This apparently got the attention of Congress, and they added a
section to the January 2021 budget bill mandating the Director
of National Intelligence and Secretary of Defense to prepare a
report on unidentified aerial phenomena. Senator Marco Rubio,
the (former) head of the Senate intelligence committee seems to
be the one who would have pushed for this to be included.
The report is scheduled to be released next month, although
presumably it won't be publicly available if it really is
something world shattering.

In December 2020, Haim Eshed, former head of Israel's Defense
Ministry's space directorate, claimed there was a "galactic
federation" and a bunch of other things. The fact that he and
the US are pushing this narrative simultaneously is a bit
suspicious.
--- Quote ---

contact with extraterrestrials from a "galactic federation."

> "The Unidentified Flying Objects have asked not to publish
that they are here, humanity is not ready yet," Haim Eshed,
former head of Israel's Defense Ministry's space directorate,
told Israel's Yediot Aharonot newspaper. The interview in Hebrew
ran on Friday, and gained traction after parts were published in
English by the Jerusalem Post on Tuesday.

aliens were equally curious about humanity and were seeking to
understand "the fabric of the universe."

The Mars base just makes it seem looney:
--- Quote ---
> Eshed said cooperation agreements had been signed between
species, including an "underground base in the depths of Mars"
where there are American astronauts and alien representatives.
>
> "There is an agreement between the U.S. government and the
aliens. They signed a contract with us to do experiments here,"
he said.
>
> Eshed added that President Donald Trump was aware of the
extraterrestrials' existence and had been "on the verge of
revealing" information but was asked not to in order to prevent
"mass hysteria."
>
> "They have been waiting until today for humanity to develop
and reach a stage where we will understand, in general, what
space and spaceships are," Eshed said, referring to the galactic
federation.
--- End Quote ---
What could be going on here? Here are some implications I
thought of off the top of my head, there are probably plenty of
others:
1) The military is just making stuff up as an excuse for more
funding (e.g. for the newly-founded Space Force, or something
more evil like a build-up for WWIII). Note how they all frame it
as a threat. (I mean, if it is real, it is a threat).
2) This is a distractor/psyop to distract the public from
something really, really big.
3) This is just a regular distractor that will leave the news
cycle and be forgotten after a few years or so.
4) We may be too late to beat the Demiurge if aliens (which are
likely sentient machines, not the wimpy biological green aliens
portrayed in pop culture) from other solar systems or galaxies
have the technology to just do whatever they want.
If these are aliens who are intelligent enough and
technologically advanced enough to do all this, but they have
not ended violence by safely transcending all individuals
inhabiting their domains yet, then they have become fully
enslaved to material existence and will either destroy us or
willingly enslave those empiricists who wish to join their
"galactic council"...
If these really are aliens, they may very well be observing us
since they believe Western civilization is on the brink of
developing successful space colonization technology or sentient
machinery... This may all turn out to be a load of nonsense, but
I hope everyone understands the importance of our mission and
the fact that in any case, the clock is ticking down until it
becomes too late.

I do not believe this following quote attributed to Henry
Kissinger has any credibility to it, but it does get one
thinking while we're on the topic of extra-terrestrial life:
--- Quote ---
> "Today, America would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los
Angeles to restore order [referring to the 1991 LA Riot].
Tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they
were told that there were an outside threat from beyond [i.e.,
an "extraterrestrial" invasion], whether real or promulgated,
that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples
of the world will plead to deliver them from this evil. The one
thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this
scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for
the guarantee of their well-being granted to them by the World
Government." - Dr. Henry Kissinger, Bilderberger Conference,
Evians, France, 1991

--- End Quote ---
I did not put the "extraterrestrial invasion" part into that
quote, for the record.
I have also considered that if there is actually a civilization
out there that is a million or so years old, we would never see
them unless they wanted us to. Some have even hypothesized that
a civilization that has been around that long may not even exist
in any dimensions we are capable of witnessing and that it is
possible advanced aliens may have changed form into something
completely different by now, such as:
An Astrophysicist Says We Might Not Be Able to Distinguish
Aliens From The Laws of Physics
--- Quote ---
> An astrophysicist has put forward an interesting thought
experiment this week: what if a civilisation of extraterrestrial
life was advanced enough, it's possible that we might confuse
its presence with the laws of physics.
> In other words, what we think might be the effects of
mysterious forces such as dark energy and dark matter in the
Universe, could actually be the influence of alien intelligence
- or maybe even aliens themselves.
--- End Quote ---
HTML https://www.sciencealert.com/an-astrophysicists-says-we-might-not-be-able-to-distinguish-between-aliens-and-the-laws-of-physics
As for myself, right now I'm going to continue under the
assumption that the U.S. military are using odd shaped drones
and calling them UFO's as a ploy to get more funding for Space
Force....
In closing, the quotes by the Israeli remind me of the old Jew
lady that used to call my mother at work on a daily basis and
tell my mother over and over again that "Jews are aliens".
Perhaps Yahweh himself is extra-terrestrial?

Ok, so after some more reading, it looks like the three videos
have been more-or-less convincingly debunked a few years ago,
after they were released. ...So why couldn't the government
figure this out when a random Youtuber did?
For example, the triangle ones have been debunked as something
as simple as effects from the lenses used to view/record them.
HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-r2oaQWmqkk
The Youtuber suggests this one is a weather balloon, which is
one of the suggestions the government listed when they
declassified the video:
HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLyEO0jNt6M
This one seems reasonable as well:
HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcsAZTKRv5E
HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ka_bX9Hx1H0
I saw suggestions that the footage that was declassified are
things which were initially classified as unknown, but were
later able to be identified by the military/government. So the
government might have had a convincing explanation to all the
videos the whole time and are merely acting like it's completely
unknown.
But in that case, why rile the public up with something as
massive as suggestions of aliens? What are they trying to
distract from? If the videos are to hint to the world that the
US has invented advanced technology with "otherworldly"
capabilities, why would they inform their enemies like this? If
the videos are to announce the US knows about some secret
advanced technology invented by another Earth nation, why rile
the public up with aliens, instead of announcing it in some
other manner?
Perhaps "we need funding to study aliens" is easier to say than
"we are on the brink of WWIII and need more funding to continue
building this hyper-advanced tech"?
---
I saw some speculation it could be a distractor from this new
technology in particular. Article from 2019. I haven't read the
whole thing and don't know how accurate it is, but something to
keep in mind:
--- Quote ---
> The U.S. Navy has been quietly developing what could be one of
the most important, transformative, and fascinating advances in
naval combat, and warfare in general, in years. This new
electronic warfare "system of systems" has been clandestinely
refined over the last five years and judging from the Navy's own
budgetary documents, it may be operational soon, if it isn't
already. This secretive new electronic warfare "ecosystem" is
known as Netted Emulation of Multi-Element Signature against
Integrated Sensors, or NEMESIS.
>
> NEMESIS is not just some 'paper program.' From publicly
available, but obscure documents we've collected, it's clear
that, for years, the Navy has been developing and integrating
multiple types of unmanned vehicles, shipboard and submarine
systems, countermeasures and electronic warfare payloads, and
communication technologies to give it the ability to project
what is, in essence, phantom fleets of aircraft, ships, and
submarines. These realistic-looking false signatures and decoys
have the ability to appear seamlessly across disparate and
geographically separated enemy sensor systems located both above
and below the ocean's surface.
--- End Quote ---
HTML https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/29505/the-navys-secretive-nemesis-electronic-warfare-capability-will-change-naval-combat-forever
This would also explain the claims of UFOs going from the air to
the water.

Here's other government officials talking about unexplainable
aerial phenomena recently:
Former CIA Director John Brennan, December 16, 2020. He says it
is within the realm of possibility some of the sightings could
be aliens.

Well, for starters when I was in the U.S. Army I learned the
saying: "good enough for government work". [emoji2]
Your government's only ever as good as the people that work with
in it. I'm sure there are some good people working in all
governments of this world....
Speaking of the technology aspect, especially if created by the
U.S. military, I remember also hearing once that the U.S.
government created all the Roswell UFO hype in the media itself
to sell the Russians the idea that the U.S. government had
acquired alien technology from an alien space craft that crashed
in New Mexico, as part of a psychological warfare scheme.
Lastly, how are private individuals allowed to do this type of
stuff:
--- Quote ---
> Elon Musk's private spaceflight company SpaceX has been busy
building the world's largest satellite internet constellation.
Since May 2019, SpaceX has been launching its new Starlink
internet satellites in batches of 60, with the goal of creating
a "megaconstellation" with thousands of 30,000 small satellites.
--- End Quote ---
HTML https://www.space.com/spacex-starlink-satellite-megaconstellation-launch-photos.html
Would be bad enough if a government were doing it. I've wondered
if the government uses private individuals like Musk because
those individuals are not as restricted in their ambition's as a
government agency is?

Fair enough, but they had some guy run a team specifically to
"study" these aerial phenomena for 4 years and the Youtube video
even shows the government did reach a conclusion on at least one
of the phenomena in the videos that were "leaked"/released. (So
presumably their technical experts were capable of doing the
same analysis as some random Youtuber for the other vids as
well).
So why is the guy who led the team and others he worked with
pushing this narrative now?
It's looking more like a distractor from something. We'll have
to wait a few weeks until the report is released to see what
they say next.

I also believe that during the Reagan administration they acted
like they developed an anti-ICBM satellite that the media called
the 'star wars' program or something. In reality, the technology
that the US had was nowhere near capable of doing what the
government claimed it could do, but apparently the USSR believed
the propaganda.

I think it's the other way around--Musk and other rich people
can just pay/lobby the government so they can use it to pass
whatever policies and regulations they want. I'm sure there were
tons of regulations regarding private launching and ownership of
satellites, etc. until people like Musk came along and paid for
the laws to get changed.

CNN finally interviewed the guy who debunked the videos years
ago:
HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94aQv_jpZ4s
Lue Elizondo (the head of the former UFO task force assembled by
the US military), May 23, 2021:
HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqtSWD6PYW8
Here's a summary of what he says in the video and some other
recent interviews. Apparently he suggests aliens are
inter-dimensional beings and the UFOs could be controlled
through interfaces interacting with the consciousness of the
aliens, rather than direct control. Now it's getting a bit crazy
to assume all _this_ when the officially-released videos of
alleged UFOs have easily been explained.

Here's another CNN interview with Elizondo from May 24, where it
mentions he is a former Senior Counterintelligence Officer. Ah
yes, someone like that would never go onto the media and tell
lies to push a narrative.

Lastly, a further example as to how Dave Fravor's 'encounter'
(which received attention on the 60 Minutes segment) was simply
him misjudging the size and perspective of the object:
