What have I done? [akira following aftermath]

Akira stumbled onto the beach. In an instant she was at a run.
As if she was trying to put distance between her and herself,
what she did. Everytime she tried to help someone, it just
turned around to be horrible. And now? Now she had helped
Damion release the grim. Without her he never would have gotten
the crystal. Only an angel could have gotten it. After a while
her legs gave out and she sank into the tide. Collapsing into
the waves she curled up letting the tide soak her, almost as if
she was trying to wash away her guilt. Curling on her side she
stared out at the vast ocean.

Soon, a pair of hands found themselves in her hair, and a kiss
to her cheek was given.

Akira curled down further, feeling she was beyond help. Why had
he followed her, she didn't deserve this. She had loosed the
Grim. It was as much her fault for trusting Damion as it was
him for releasing him. Tears fell down her cheeks into the
water.

Ryou lifted her into his arms, brushing the hair from her face.
"Get up. Stop doing this to yourself."

She put up no resitance to him lifing her up, but she kept her
eyes down. "You should be horrified of what I did. I never
should have done that. I just wanted to help Ascher." She
mumbled softly. That knot of guilt sat strong in her core, not
going to let up any time soon.

Akira still looked down trying to look like she was perking up
some. "Yeah, but most mistakes don't unleash unspeakable evil
on the world."
