save hers?" he asked, fangs poised at the boys neck.

Akira tensed as the snake wrapped around her brother. Her heart
jumped, trade her brother for Ascher? She didn't want to lose
either of them. Leo was her brother....how could she do that.
Her mind snapped out of its spiral when she heard leo's voice.
Trembling she looked at him, tears welling up in her eyes.
"Leo..."

Tears rolled down her cheeks freely. "But Leo...." If he said
it was going to be okay, she had to trust him. Tenatively she
nodded to the snake. "I need to save her...its not her fault
she's like that."

Nightshade unwrapped himself from Leo, chuckling he returned to
his spot in the middle of the room "You are quite serious in
your quest to save your friend, very lucky that I am in a
benevolent mood. I shall take your brothers life, you have
passed my test." He said, holding up his tail a black stone
formed "The first key to taking the stone you seek. A word of
advice young angel, sometimes the power you are granted is not
the power you truly seek." He said. A black door opened behind
him leading to to a long hallway that led to the next room.
Curling back up he returned to being he runic marks along the
room.

The breath Akira had taken finally was let out as Nightshade
uncurled from her brother leaving him unharmed. She took the
black stone with a nod, holding it close to keep it safe. The
words rang through her mind, the warning sticking in her mind.
She nodded softly at the snake. "Thank you, I will take that to
heart. I will not forget the advice." she said quietly, but
determined. Using the back of her sleve she dried the tears
that had escaped. Looking to her brother she made her way to
the black door.
