Fairy tales and Fables [library, evening, open]
By: Akira Tohru Date: December 19, 2012, 12:13 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Akira walked into the library curled up in one of her new
sweatshirts. Aiden was taking a nap in the hood hanging behind
her as she carried the bag of books into the library. Looking
for the most descrete table in the library she walked to the
back. In a fairly dim corner she sat down, moving Aiden from
her hood to her lap as she pulled a familiar book out of her
bag. Running her fingers over the cover she leaned back in the
chair. "Lets see what else you can tell me." She mumbled
lightly to the book opening it back up determined to read the
whole thing.

Kuro strolled in the library, smelling Akira. Both of his tails
flicked happily as he found her, and mewed softly.

Hearing the mew Akira looked up slightly. "oh hello kuro." she
smiled and scratched the felines head softly. Aiden's head
poked up slightly before he hopped down and sniffed at kuro.

The book, as though reacting to her touch, opened up in the
Legends portion of the book.
The Case of Jonathan
In the town of Saint of Hope there are many who come and go, by
death or leaving of there own accord but none were ever as
strange as the story of Jonathan.A young man apprenticing as an
Exorcist with considerable spiritual strength. He was sent to
another town to vanquish a demon but was killed during the
battle, his brought body back by the grateful townsmen and he
was being prepared to be buried, his body left in the casket
over night but when the gravediggers returned they found the
body gone. Oddly the man we thought dead was walking around town
alive and well, but it seemed something had changed him.
Assuming the entire ordeal was too much for the young apprentice
he was left be by the folks of the town. Days wore on and soon a
few townsfolk began speaking of a strangeness around Jonathan,
his wife claimed he was up at all strange hours and never seemed
to sleep, some have said to seen him talking to himself, while
others have claimed that the air around the boy was dark and
heavy as though something were following him.
Still the villagers left it be, a grave mistake on there part.
Reports began to come in to the local exorcist of something
killing off men and women of various villages yet every exorcist
sent comes back with no information or results. As this
continued dear Jonathan seemed both strong and very frail. The
unknown aura began to grow considerably, a visible darkness that
clung to him and pushed all others away. His wife has spoken to
the healers telling them how he seems to be sick, fainting, and
coughing up blood almost every other day and speaking to an
unknown voice at all hours of the day and night. As the deaths
continued Jonathan continued to strengthen in power and
deteriorate in health. Villagers have seen the young man walking
the graveyard with strange black markings upon his body. Until
one day we found poor Jonathan dead, the cause of death unknown
but many claim he was possessed by something and whatever it
was, was unable to do what it desired and abandoned it's host to
death.

As Akira read the story it struck her. Never sleeping, always
talking to oneself, growing in power. This all seemed to read
too similar. Even the manner of being broght back from the
dead. She raised her eyes from the paper and rubbed her head
lightly, deeply concerned. She needed to know what it was. If
it had happened once before it had happened many. She needed to
find out more and went back to reading.

A tale of Grim
There was a man of strong powers, able to tame the elements and
harness the words of holy, but that man chose not to become an
exorcist. He was thought to be quite crazy for not taking up a
profession in which he would excel, instead he passed on odd
stories to children and exorcist in training. Tales of courage,
tales of sorrow and some were tales that no one would ever
believe. A tale of the world between, the place where the Grim
was banished, one that no one but a dead man could tell of. He
has spoke that, that place is the resting grounds for newly dead
souls where they are judged and there souls cleansed and sent
back to the world to take on new lives. He spoke of souls that
were unable to be brought back and others who were sent back
into there own bodies. The man has claimed the Grim is preparing
to rise again to finish what it was unable to do, that each time
a soul is sent back into there own dead body it latches on it
hopes of being free. Using it's hosts body to store energy and
collect more souls to be used for its own reincarnation. The
idea was dismissed, for if it were true the Grim would already
have destroyed the world and rewrote it. The man tells any that
will listen that the Grim is never able to keep the body for
long, each host is unable to deal with the large amounts of
energies required to house such a being, there bodies begin to
weaken until death once again claims them.

Akira read this story the worry growing slightly in her eyes.
The being Grim, he came back when someone was brought back into
their own bodies from the dead. Everything was trying to
perfectly to what was going on to be a coincidence. The fact
that the body of the person never lasted long enough for Grim
was her biggest concern. At this rate Ascher's body would give
out on her. She kept reading to see if there were cases that it
didn't end badly. There had to be some way to stop this.

The book was suddenly taken out of her hands "Again with this
book Angel?" Damion asked, carefully poised he was standing on
the back of her chair. "Did I not tell you this was all a bunch
of gambles and stories?" he added.

Akira's eyes snapped up as the book was taken from her. Her
eyes rolled lightly as she found Damion. "What if I enjoy
fables and fairy tales. Its not like I don't have other books I
was reading." She pointed to the bag with books. "I was just
enjoying a few stories as I took a break."

"Sure and I'm a magical pony named Mystic." he said, tossing the
book in the air and catching it. "I come bearing rather
wonderful news but perhaps you'd like to go back to your
princess stories."
