PB’s#Wind#or just mortals

I’d say most of us are just mere mortals and have consistent
distances in calm like conditions, which would make our PB’s more
realistic.
But give us a gale and suddenly we’re super brilliant casters
with PB’s closing in on world records.
Now would I go to a worlds based on my PB’s gotten from a 40mph
wind....... probably not,it’s a false economy.
I wanna know what your thoughts are on records obtained by wind
assistance.

Its a difficult one. There are only wind restrictions on records
for plug casting but not leads. However most of the records are
still held by the best casters 99% of the time, the ones that
regularly win events.
I cant actually remember the last time I cast in a decent wind.
If it is blowing here, it's a severe crosswind, our fields are
long and narrow and not suitable for all directions. Last time I
cast in a good wind was maybe 2010. I mean a proper wind that is
difficult to walk against. I can't wait for the day we get
another big wind, however our club (as other clubs do) have
their dates planned in advance, and most won't suddenly put on
an event at a moments notice for a big storm coming, and if they
do records and maybe PBs will not be counted.
I plan to go back to UKSF sometime soon and, possibly the worlds
in germany 2020 IF I can get back to my best.
For me this would consistently be over 240 metres regularly, and
in the 50s the odd time on a flat field in average conditions
10mph wind or so.
My personal target is always 250 yards/230 metres. If I come
away less than that Im unhappy.
No one will deny 300 yard casts are done in favourable
conditions and/or slight downward slopes.
Does this make them any less impressive. No I dont think so.
