       Not sure what you mean here in regards to hand position and
       angles , any chance to to a short video on the phone ?

       The idea is to make an isosceles triangle. The body is the
       upright, the rod the hypotenuse and the ground is the base.
       Angle at base/upright 90 degrees. The other two angles are 45
       degrees. This is only possible when the hands are in the right
       place on the rod butt, as in casting. We short fellas need
       shorter rods we can arrive at the same point by moving the hands
       nearer the tip.  This theory allows the rod to be kept at what I
       believe is the correct angle of the rod throughout the arc
       before lifting into the hit. Hope this clearer M8.   Obviously
       one can simplify the process as we know the body/base angle is
       90 degrees so we only need to measure from the ground to the
       hand held above the head. The subsequent  calculations will
       arrive at the optimum rod length.
