with livestock in all fields bar the top one we had no choice
but to set up in the bottom corner, which meant casting uphill.
We had a nice breeze to start but it soon died then change
direction to a cross court wind and by the last two casts it was
almost blowing in our faces. Anyhow we gathered to do battle
with the 150g lead and battle with it we did, cyclonic wind,
high pressure and casting uphill made for an interesting day. we
had a day caster with us, Paul was trying out a few bass rods
before he commits to buying one, still have one more for you to
try mate, he managed a PB on the 100g lead with a basic fishing
cast. Congratulations to Stevie on taking top spot on a
difficult day, but the main battle was for second place which
ended in a draw and poor Louis didnt preform too well as he was
a bit hungover after the Liverpool match, too much celebration
:D. Thanks to everyone for helping put up and take down the
court. Now for the bad news, the field we were using is being
used for silage so the grass might be too long next time but I
will update you all on that in two weeks.
Results for 150g day

well we got casting today, the grass was a bit on the long side
but still manageable and even after flatting the grass around
the oche some of us still managed to catch it at times. So after
today the grass will be too long and we will have to wait until
its cut therefore casting will be off for a few weeks. Anyway
back today, it was a beautiful day with very little cloud and a
North wind which will increase in strength as the day wore on,
this meant setting the court up for casting uphill and walking
uphill in long grass is tiring. We had a few crack offs but
thankfully they were all recovered and we had a PB today so well
done to Graeme who pulled out the stops on his last cast. The
longest cast of the day went to Stevie at 251yards. Once again
thanks to everyone who helped with the court and measuring I am
thankful for the assistance.

Well we finally got back into the field and what a day it was
dry, bright and warm, which we all know is horrible to cast in.
Not only did we have high pressure but the forecasted breeze was
northly which meant casting uphill so we had a workout today. So
once we had set up the four members in attendance all got ready
to cast the 125g lead as in two weeks its meant to be our 125g
event, but it was hard work as the air was still and the breeze
never materialized so the leads where just dropping out of the
sky. The rounds went quickly due to the low numbers which meant
we got loads of casts done and a lot of walking uphill,
thankfully not too far. All in all it was great to be out
casting again and as always the craic was great. Thanks for
helping with the court guys.

well we had a mixed bag today for casting, the pressure was high
and the wind was intermitting we also had a few heavy rain
showers which meant a few thumb slips, but all crack offs where
found. There was 6 members and one daycaster today, welcome once
again to Paul who with a little help almost doubled his first
cast. The rest of us where there to do battle for top honors on
our 125g event, unfortunately Benny had to pull out due to an
arm injury but thanks for staying to help with the measuring
mate. Top spot went to Stevie with a long cast but he was under
pressure for a while from Graeme while the rest of us did battle
for third place. All in all it was a fun day but a bit wet at
times, round on the next field day.

It was a warm dry day with a nice west wind, which means a cross
court wind with added high pressure so our skinnies practice day
wasn't looking good. Just 4 members turned up to cast today as
injuries and hangovers kept others at bay. The court was angled
as best as could be to try and take advantage of the wind but
with each cast a large bow of line went out right and then
walking up the hill in the heat meant lots of steps where
counted today. We did have one pb today as Louis wisely decided
to stick with the heavier lead to work on his timing, well done
mate. As always the craic was great with a little bit of
competition thrown in, thanks to all who helped set up and take
down the court. Roll on two weeks when the light day event will
take place, hope to see you all there.

It was a very warm day, high pressure and a cross court wind
which by the last few rounds blew into our faces, not good for
the 50g lead. With holidays and injuries keeping members away
four of us turned up to cast the light leads. We set up in the
upper field and angled the court to try and use some of the wind
but every cast saw a bow of line drift out right and with 15
rounds and crack offs we did a lot of walking. Well done to
Stevie on taking the win and to Graeme who managed a Pb.

With the forecast for a dry day with a northwest wind we had
high hopes for a decent days casting, what we got was a more
westerly wind and showers throughout the day. The good news is
that with the wind blowing slightly northwest meant we could get
into the flatter field as it meant casting away from the
buildings. With holidays and injuries keeping a few members away
the four of us set up the court and proceeded to cast away,
thankfully the cross court wind of about 10 to 15mph didnt blow
too much of a belly in the lines. Stevie won the day casting
his new rod made by Jay Lee and Graeme managed a pb on the 50g
lead, well done lads.

we had a beautiful day with bright sunshine and a nice
temperature of 17 degrees, on the downside the wind wasn't
playing ball as it was light and across court all day but we
angled the court the best we could. This meant we were using the
top field and had a sloping oche and casting across the hill.
After the leads had been cast out a few of us casted plugs down
the hill just to get some practice for the upcoming plug day in
two weeks, none of these counted as it wasn't an official court
but distances were good with a 122y and 102 yard casts ranged.
We had a daycaster today and Rath done well going from a 90yard
cast to 133yard cast with a little help, I am sure he will go
further still. Stevie had the longest cast of the day on the
175g at 248 yards a fine cast in difficult conditions.

well today was our plug casting event and the forecast was good.
A southwest wind meant we could cast downhill for a change, it
was dry but the wind strength was weaker that stated. The wind
was only 7 to 9mph when Stevie checked it with his wind meter so
no massive casts today. There was a Pb on the 125g after the
plug event was over, congratulations on that Louis I am sure
there is more to come. Anyhow there was four of us there today
to contest the might 18g plug and top bombing went to Stevie,
well done mate. Thanks to all who helped with the court.

today's forecast was for a 20mph+ wind blowing sse which it did
do for most of the day but towards the end it went cross court,
at least it stayed dry for a change. With a decent wind a few
pbs where to be expected and we got 3, so well done Tommy Graeme
and Louis. We had a daycaster with us and he is no stranger to a
casting court and managed 230yards with fishing gear, nice to
see you back at it again Chris Pritchard. Thanks to all who
helped with the court and looking for crack-off. Just a reminder
that in two weeks its 100g day.
