Scunthorpe host Newcastle in the Carling Cup tonight.
Newcastle Manager Alan Pardew is aiming for cup success in both
domestic cups so his side will be very motivated to do one job
only and that is win.
He recently ruled his team out of the running for the Premier
League title hence why the cups are his priorities.
Joey Barton will not travel to face Scunthorpe after having a
medical with QPR.
Haris Vuckic and Sammy Ameobi are likely to play aswell as Demba
Ba and new boy Sylvain Marveaux. Its most likely to be a first
team mixed with reserves playing for Newcastle.eserves playing
for Newcastle.

Hope who ever plays tonight shows the passion to play for us.
Also I hope they grab the opportunity by both hands and make the
step up to the 1st team. Looking forward to seeing Marveaux and
Ba but I hope they still play Colo and Taylor at the back
because after Fulham we have a long gap without a game so then
can recharge. I do think Pardew should play a strong team and
make his changes at half time if we have a good lead. We have
no chance in winning the league so why not go all out to win a
cup and finish strong in the league.
