New Signings

Right all you Toon Heeds, I want your views on A: The new
signings and B: who else you would like to see before 1st
September. We can all dream but I would prefer a realistic view
on incomings. Discuss

Personally I would like to see us go out and get Matavz from
Groningen, Toivenen from PSV (along with Pieters), and also as a
fantasy or maybe just even a cheeky bid/loan bid why not go for
Drogba he does not look happy at Chelski. Discuss.
On the subject of the players who have joined, I think Cabaye is
going to be twice the player for us that Nolan was, when he
settles into the way we play and the difference between French
football and our football. When Marveaux get's fit again I
think we are going to get a player very similar to what Robert
was like and we all loved his attacking play but hated his
defensive work. Ba I can not really make a comment on having
not seen much of him even last year. One final mention has to
be for the young French kid Abied, according to several sources
he has greatly impressed all the coaches especially Beardsley
who thinks we have a star in the making. Vive la Toon

would love to see us make a bid for danny sturridge, hes not
even getting a look - in at chelsea and aly cissokho from leon
at lb

I keep hearing Sturridge's name mentioned he played OK for a
Bolton side last season but to be honest if he was that good he
would be playing instead of Anelka, I think it is another case
of Chelsea buying the younger players a few years ago thinking
they were going to be big, remember they did it with Parker and
Duff and quite a few others. But a loan would not be a bad idea
but we are talking about a young English player so you know his
price is going to be well high. And is he really worth £10-£15
million which is being quoted around different media?

I would pay £20Million for him. He has shown wherever he has
played that he has real quality. Chelsea got him from Man City
cos they saw he had potential.
Bolton got him on loan and he was their best player. He played
pre-season for Chelsea and was amazing. He is better than Danny
Welbeck and look what he's doing now!!!
