Ok so there's a couple of things I don't quite like, the first
is that I can't seem to see any new post or like notifications
on my profile despite setting them. second is that this thread
doesn't open to the last read but to the OP.

Nope, though I don't think the notifications here work the same
way. As far as I'm aware it should be replies and likes. But I
have to go into every thread to read new posts.

The multitude of icons in the bottom right of each post. Mouse
over them to see what they mean.
