I got new gear today

Had my new NIKON 300mm f/4E PF ED VR delivered today, sold the
older version last week, mainly down to the weight & I often
leave it in the bag as it was just too heavy to lug about for
long. The weight difference is a huge 1440 g vs 755g :o
I'm soooooo looking forward to getting out on Sunday with it.
Still into my feathered bird photography (Yes Stewart) ;D
I also recently got a new MeFoto Roadtrip Tripod in bright
orange to scare the birds away!
Got some new pics on my flickr, still selling on stock and it's
all ticking over nicely :D
I gave up advertising portraits on our FB page, too many people
on there with 'a good camera' whose friends tell them 'you
should do it professionally' and churn out shit, blown,
overexposed grubby kids with snotty noses and charge £20 for 300
pics unedited on CD. People say 'wow, thats cheap...'
Yeh yeh... and they hang that awful crap on their walls for all
to see!
It makes me cringe, and some of the wedding photos... don't get
me started! 'Oh i was hoping you'd charge about £100 as it's
only a small wedding & thats our budget' Up pops the grotty kid
photographer and shouts 'Me, me, me' Im going to lie in a dark
room now & never speak of this again :o

That's why I gave up on weddings, everyone wants something for
nothing.
That and the hands shooting out into the field of view with a
bloody iPhone attached to it!

I downloaded a shed load of wedding pic's for a work colleague
the other day.
The pic's, in my opinion, were a pretty pathetic attempt.
I took a couple and ran them through photoshop for her so she
could print them and give them to the Granny of the Bride.
Not sure what they paid, but I don't remember seeing anything
that I would consider a professional wedding photo.
It's a shame as it was a stunning location too.
