Electric. I know gas does better in some ways but it scares me
when my kids are close by.

It's really all I know. But I like the fact that there's no
pilot light to worry about or wood to burn or flames to deal
with.

Electric. I have used a gas stove in the past, and I hated it.
I always had trouble getting it to light, and I'd end up in a
cloud of gas. Also, I am not comfortable around flames. I am
likely to accidentally set something on fire. A few times, I
almost set myself on fire while using a gas stove because I wore
sleeves that hung down and nearly touched the flames.
