At my renewal of vows ceremony. I had one matron of honor. DH
had one Best Man.
At DDS wedding, there is going to be one Best Man, one
bridesmaid & 2 bride's BFFs.

Seems now it is the norm to not have the same amount and also
guys can be on the girls side and girls on the guys side even.

Technically none. The way we were married didn't really have a
place for bridesmaids or groomsmen but Dan asked his best bud
and I asked my younger sis to be our honorary best man/matron of
honor.
