My social skills aren't great, and I often need to rely on
nonverbal cues (facial expressions, hand motions, etc.) to be at
ease in a conversation. During a phone call, I don't have those
cues. Also, sometimes I don't get things like sarcasm, so I end
up misunderstanding a person's real meaning on the phone if they
use such things. That's another instance in which nonverbal
cues can come in handy for me as well.

What part of calls gives you the anxiety? I feel
trapped if I'm on the phone too long.
