It's been a year already. It's the big holidays here and
millions are on the road to go back to their hometowns. As
always there are accidents, and hospitals need blood.

Can’t give blood anymore. My veins are too small & the
phlebotomist refuses to use smaller needles.

I celebrated by making an appointment to donate, something I do
regularly. I the 3rd rarest blood type and I have no problem
donating, so I go to the blood center every few months, as soon
as they send me an email saying I'm ok to donate again (I think
it's every 52 days). They usually offer $10 gift cards to
donors to sign up for a particular date and location. The cards
are usually for the local supermarket, or Home Goods, or Target,
etc. I usually sign up for the supermarket card, which I will
get next week when I donate.
