You could go 4 days without your phone? My friend is having her
phone repaired and it's going to take 4 days for her to get it
back!

I couldn't, LOL!! It would drive me nuts! I depend on my phone.
Do you do a lot of texting?

I think so but it would be a bit on the hard side. Most days I
don't get calls anyway but do text mom daily to check in or she
checks in on me. But if we know I'm out of a phone for a few
days it will be ok.

I think it's great you and your mom keep in touch daily! :)
Have you ever had to have your phone repaired?

Yup. I've gone almost 2wks without it, or with it and without
data and phone service (so just had access to my camera).

No, probably not. I use my phone for everything all the time -
dates and reminders on my calendar, as an alarm clock, read
emails, watch for photos of my far away son & grandkids on
Facebook, stay in touch with far-away friends and family, and of
course, my phone. I'm alone a lot (I'm retired but DH still
works) and I am in my 60's so I have my phone in my pocket all
the time. It has saved my life a few times. Once was when I
was in the upstairs bathroom at 5:30AM, having a medical
emergency, while DH was 2 floors below in the basement getting
dressed for work so I called his phone so he could call an
ambulance. Another was when I was accosted & threatened in a
supermarket parking lot by a crazy girl who, after I'd signaled,
then parked, got out of her car, came to me and shouted that I'd
taken her parking space, then threatened to hurt me and damage
my car! I called the police and sure enough, they had stopped
crazy girl for a traffic violation 1 hour earlier! They detained
her and let me leave. So, yeah, I need my phone.

Wow!! That girl was crazy!! You never know when your going to
come across a lunatic! Ugh!! Abd definitely for medical
emergencies it's important to have access to your phone!! I know
people managed before cell phones came along, but seriously
people do depend on them!
I couldn't imagine a full day without mine, much less 4 days!
How are your son and grandkids doing? I hope they are all doing
well! :)

Probably not. I use it to communicate to my sisters so we can
figure out who will be with the parents each day.
