We went to a local amusement park for a family
night with G's school. We ate there. I had fried dough with
sauce and grated cheese. G actually ate the roll and cheese
off a cheeseburger. He even managed to take a few bites of the
meat. We were really impressed. [quote

We had pork chops and rice. And I got us some $1 drinks from
McDonald's on the way back from ds's practice.

That sounds delicious :) Brown rice definitely takes some
getting used to lol. I've found if you over cook it, it is
softer and more palatable.

Chili con carne over brown rice. It started out to be turkey
bolognese over rigatoni til I realized I don't have the can of
crushed tomatoes essential to my recipe! I had plenty of tomato
sauce, ground beef in the freezer, and fresh veggies and
seasonings needed for my chili recipe, so chili it is! We're
trying it with brown rice for a change (we both hate brown rice
but I found some that worked with my shrimp creole recipe, so
here goes...). To go with, a salad of field greens and heirloom
tomatoes with olives and red onions. And if my avocado is still
OK, I'll make a quick guacamole.
