We had a small reception in the church hall right after our 11AM
wedding ceremony which consisted of several trays of hors
d'oeuvres from a local caterer as well as champagne, wedding
cake (yellow cake filled with cannolli cream, with butter cream
frosting, topped with a Precious Moments bride and groom
figurine) , and coffee/tea. Everyone who attended the ceremony,
about 30 or 40 people, was welcomed. In the evening we had a
wedding dinner with 10 of our immediate families and our 2
attendants (best man and matron of honor) at a very elegant
nearby restaurant. That's all I remember about the food - it
was 33 years ago on June 1.

Food was served at your wedding? And how many guests did you
have?

dh and I did not have but him, my kids and
2 friends at our wedding. About a week later we had a
reception, which was a bar-b-que at our home.

Did you have a reception?

no just dinner and family socializing afterwards. It wasn't
much fun because it was obvious he didn't want to be there.

We had an evening wedding so we expected people would eat before
but at the reception we had a buffet with salads, cold cuts,
cheeses, buns and I think there was perogies and cabbage rolls
too but I can't really remember. We also had both Canadian and
Danish wedding cakes, a chocolate fountain and a small sundae
bar. We invited 300 from Canada, the US and Denmark but only
had about 150 actually attend.
Wow!! You 150 prople is still quite a lot of people!! And it
sounds like the food was awesome!! :) Did you have a long
reception?

There were 15 of us total (that includes hubby and I).
My mom made these chicken stuffed croissant things that we loved
and a red velvet cake for our wedding cake. I think she made
purple salad too at my request but I don't recall the sides she
made for sure.

It sounds awesome!! :) purple salad? Is that like purple
cabbage cole slaw?
