When Mt. St. Helen's blew in 1980. It was really the only thing
on the news that my mother let us watch.

Gosh I remember when Mt St. Helens blew and I remember the Iran
hostages being released.

The presidential election in 1960 - particularly the
Nixon-Kennedy debates. I remember watching with my Dad. I was
only 9 but Dad explained the election process to me and I found
it very interesting.

I remember Mt St Helen's erupting. I don't think I
appreciated fully how big of an event it was at the time. How
old were you when it happened?

was huge especially for the election that year. I think I was
in 5th/6th grade. That was really scary when they were being

That must have been really neat to watch. How were the debates
between them? Kennedy must have been something to watch. Did
you and your dad watch the news together often?
