It's too cool, damp and rainy to BBQ today, so I'm cooking
indoors. On today's menu is Shrimp Creole, over brown rice,
with peas. And, if it stays cool, I might make French onion
soup - I have a large bag of sweet onions I need to use up soon
and all the other ingredients - Swiss cheese, beef broth, etc.
And DH loves it, as do I. Funny, it was almost 90 here yesterday
and soup was the last thing on my mind! Today, at 2:50PM, it's
62 here in NJ!

The weather here is similar. French onion
soup sounds delicious. I have onions I need to use too and I
couldn't have thought of that. Thanks for the idea. I never
think to make it and it's my favorite soup. [quote

Go for it! It's so simple: saute onions (in butter), add beef
broth, some seasonings (I use Worcestershire sauce and a pinch
of "herbes de Provence" (or just a few pinches of thyme),
toasted bread or croutons, top with Swiss cheese and bake, or in
the absence of Swiss, I sprinkle on some romano cheese. YUM!!

We are grilling steaks , and I have a hot dog left from last
time we ate them I might as well throw on . I love grilled hot
dogs . I’m not such a steak fanatic but whatever , no biggie ,
we are having loaded baked potatoes , Caesar salad , and I have
done mac salad left from yesterday .

I think we're having stuffed shells. It's a
nice cool night out so I'll take advantage of using the oven.
It's supposed to get hot this week. [quote
