Parent Cartoon of the Day - 6/23

Can you relate to this cartoon? How did your children approach
you when they had something not so good to tell you?

I can certainly relate. As lying is not tolerated for even a
moment in this house, the kids know that if they have something
very important to tell us, whether they did something or there
is something serious on their minds, they can always come to us.
Usually they start off with, "Mom you know I love you right?"
Also, "I want to tell you something but you need to promise to
be mad." There are a few others.
I tell them that I will always love them no matter what and that
I will promise I will try my best not to get mad. Then I tell
them that the best way to get through whatever it is, is to be
truthful.

My kids always say, "Mom, I have something I want to tell
you..." Then they just tell me whatever it is

They are either very brave or you are super chill about it.

Best thing is to take comfort that they feel they can talk to
you.

Bobby isn't one to come to me, but I'm pretty good at seeing
when he needs to talk. He'll gradually open up.

I get the feeling from posting with you for the past year that
you are a very approachable mom.
