That was the last one I did. I know quite a few people that got
burned with Groupons. The big scam was small businesses that
were going out of business would promote Groupons. Paid or not,
they become invalid if the restaurant or venue goes out of
business. This happened to three businesses that come to mind,
so there must be more of them that did that.

Basically it is a coupon for group services and products, but
usually group services (restaurants, spa's, etc) that is bought
in advance through the Groupon promotional site in both the U.S.
and Canada. Groupon is just an advertising and coupon selling
organization and they assume no responsibility for the quality
or provision of what they sell.
