Backstage News On Why James Storm And Magnus Are Leaving TNA,
GFW & TNA
DIR By: spaintnafan

---------------------------------------------------------
Regarding James Storm and Magnus leaving TNA, PWInsider reports
that both men went to TNA officials and requested their releases
due to the fact that TNA is barely running events these days and
talents are making a lot less money. Both Storm and Magnus have
work waiting for them elsewhere and both wanted to be able to
make more money for obvious reasons.
TNA officials understood the situation and let both out of their
deals. TNA's plan is to have both wrestlers come back in the
future and work TV events. TNA realizes that WWE can sign either
man if they want but officials decided to take that risk due to
the respect they have for the talents.
On a related note, PWInsider adds that TNA is very open to
working with Jeff Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling going
forward. TNA is more of a TV promotion these days and are
adjusting how they do business to fit the model that they use
now. It's expected that more talent situations like these will
be happening this year. TNA will likely keep some top talents
locked in but they don't have the revenue they once had to be in
a position to guarantee contracts

The smart thing to do would be to work with both GFW and ROH,
maybe NJPW if possible. That would open up more dates, and
perhaps potential talent from the other companies working on TNA
tapings.

smart move by tna given they are focusing these days
on tv rather than live shows. allows their talent to work
elsewhere in between when tna has tv tapings
which seems to be 1 week a month for 4 days. then tna can get
the talent back for the tv shows.
do expect tna to team up/go into partnership
with other promotions. think they will team
up with gfw given what happened on impact
this week and wouldn't surprise me if they do
the same with roh given they are on same network
update: Billy Corgan has said this confirmed that the rumoured
names to be leaving
(Magnus/Storm/Aries) are not being
written out of storylines and are already
booked/planned to come back at the next set of tapings
. He did note that there are a lot of ongoing changes in the
company with a lot of the high profile stars not being locked
down to exclusive/annual contracts going forward. In a perfect
world he wishes they could all have long term contracts and have
all the talent they want its just not how the business is at the
moment. He says that they are taking steps backward to take
steps forward. He affirms that there is nothing to worry about

I can see ROH working with TNA, they are on the same network,
they are after different audiences and there is some cross over.
This just isn't the wrestling business your used to folks. Its
going back a few years, but this used to happen all the time.
Working together drives interest up for sure.

But ROH and TNA will never work together they both have a big TV
deal . And also who would win the main event no brand would like
to loose and make their self look less good than the other . We
are not in Japan

It doesn't have to be for the world title, and wrestlers don't
have to have the same characters in one place or another. They
could do just don't have too. Could be just two or three guys
coming over.
