Real life in wrestling?
By: Emmylou Date: May 16, 2015, 4:12 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Billy Corgan recently joined TNA's creative team & said he wants
to bring real life problems into story lines.I want to know what
other fans think of this.
I'm not too sure how i feel about this.I think, for me, it
depends on what 'real life problems' he plans to bring in.
I think issues like bullying, discrimination & sexism, if
handled right could be a good idea.Lots of fans young & old face
these problems & giving a wrestler the same problem could give
them the courage to speek up.
But i would hate for wrestling to get 'political'. I realise
that tbe world has many issues that need to be spoken about but
i don't believe a wrestling show is the right place to do this.
Do you agree with me or do you think that wrestling should stick
to its own 'world'?

Done right it can work. I mean TNA are starting to do it now
with the Magnus/Mickie/James Storm story and they are slowly
bringing real life into the Gail Kim/Taryn feud

[/quote] I don't mind the fact of bringing up personal issues or
"storyline shade" as I like to call it into the wrestling world
I mean the E and TNA have done it in the past, but I agree with
Chrissi if done correctly it won't have any consequences but if
done wrong then it'll bring all kinds of problems

AKA the Lita/Edge/Matt Hardy situation. That for me was played
out all wrong. In fact, i dont think that should have been
brought into a storyline

"Personal issues make money" - that was the banner above Jerry
Jarrett's desk when he was booking Memphis. It still works and
always will, but I think the more you break the fourth wall the
less special it becomes. Keep the issues personal sure, but they
can be made up just as easily as having them come from real life
and you can control them better.
