over 18 shows in wrestling
By: Emmylou Date: May 16, 2015, 3:51 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
I want to know what other wrestling fans think of over 18's only
companies/shows. I am an on demand subscriber to ICW, Insane
Championship Wrestling, who are based in Scotland UK. You may
not be familiar with them but might know some of there
wrestlers,Grado & Noam Dar who appeared on TNA British Bootcamp
2.
These shows are definately adult only. There is plenty of bad
language from wrestlers & commentators. The matches are also, in
my oppinion, more violent than those you find on TV. But i must
admit i enjoy the more adult content. For me it gives a 'real'
feel to the stories.ICW has also showed me new wrestlers i never
knew & am now a fan of, Mikey Whiplash, Kenney Williams & Chris
Renfrew to name a few.
But what do you think?
Do you agree with me that there is a place for 'adult'
wrestling.Or do you think that all wrestling should be amily
friendly?

I think you make your product to your key audience, while ICW is
great it does one thing for one group of people. A wider cross
section can be hit with a more family friendly show, Chikara do
it well and its fans tend to be over 18s because its well
written and well presented.

I feel like companies could easily, if they had the cash, divide
the talent down the middle, half do 18+ shows, half do family
friendly... etc and really rake in the cash.

It wouldn't though because that's twice the cost of production.
Its not as easy as writing two separate shows, the way TNA are
working now with Xplosion being on Saturday morning is the best
compromise.
